Job Summary
Belden's Professional Services Engineer serves as a key customer-facing expert responsible for delivering advanced automated networking and cybersecurity solutions. In this role, you will assess, design, implement, configure, commission, and optimize complex IT and OT network environments, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction throughout every engagement.
Reporting to the Director of Professional Services, you will apply deep expertise in network architecture, data protection, and orchestration best practices to improve performance and reliability across customer networks. Your contributions will directly support client success while reinforcing Belden's position as a leader in industrial networking solutions. Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct in-depth network and cybersecurity assessments, audits, and health checks to identify improvement opportunities and recommend best-practice solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive assessment reports, technical documentation, and related customer-support materials.
  • Serve as a technical consultant, partnering with project managers and customer stakeholders to implement advanced configurations and integrations.
  • Lead deployment planning, equipment preparation, and on-site implementation activities, including hardware installation and software configuration.
  • Install and integrate solutions both onsite and remotely, ensuring adherence to established methodologies, processes, and system requirements.
  • Support customers and partners with configuration requirements for integration points within their environments.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise across the full product suite, implementation methodologies, and relevant technologies.
  • Ensure successful installation, commissioning, and validation of customer solutions.
  • Develop and deliver customized technical training for customers, installers, engineers, and other key audiences.
  • Optimize network designs and configurations to meet customer needs.
  • Complete solution handover to support teams, ensuring smooth operational transition.

Education & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in solution creation in an industrial automation networking environment
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology or computer science
  • Experience with a service delivery role in an industrial automation market
  • Experience and technical know-how in network communications

Abilities
  • Deep understanding of networking disciplines including cybersecurity, network architecture, edge computing, data orchestration, and wireless technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience identifying root-cause network issues and delivering effective, timely solutions.
  • Excellent communication and customer-engagement capabilities, with the ability to understand requirements and deliver customized technical training across diverse audiences.
  • High proficiency in preparing clear, detailed assessment reports, technical documentation, and architectural deliverables with strong attention to accuracy.
  • Demonstrated success in similar roles within the networking, industrial automation, or telecommunications sectors.
  • Ability to work independently or within multidisciplinary teams to meet goals and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Preferred Certifications
  • Cisco CCNA / CCNP / CCDP
  • Ability to travel to perform the duties of the role (Travel Frequency: +50%)
