Responsibilities
Responsible for responsible for conducting remote training for the CDIS team. Works with CDI Leadership to plan, develop, and implement clinical documentation Integrity education programs for CDI specialists and healthcare providers. Educates members of the CDI team on the review functions within the CDI program in order to meet and maintain enterprise goals and objectives, regulatory compliance, policies and procedures, and standard operating procedures. This person will assist in the didactic education and training of new staff, continuing education for all staff, aide team proficiency with coding rules and regulation changes, compliance, as well as analyzing Physician Education program to identify issues and comparing to CDI identified issues to provide an integrated approach to provider and CDI education. Integral to this position will be the onboarding and orientation of new Clinical Documentation Specialists to the CDIS role. This individual will work collaboratively with CDI Leadership to maintain system-wide orientation manual, tools, and processes. They will aid in development and education of all Healthcare Providers to keep them up-to-date in documentation principles and concepts relative to their areas of practice. Inclusive in this role is aiding in creation of tools necessary for ongoing education and success of CDI program objectives.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required
Work Experience
  • 5 years of inpatient hospital experience with a preference for med-surg, ICU, or ER related experience, to include three (3) years as a Clinical Documentation Specialist Required
  • Experience with adult education, CDI education, and healthcare provider education Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License, CCS, CDIP or CCDS certification Upon Hire Required
