Job description

CDI Specialist - Remote

Role and Responsibilities:

Review inpatient records and AI-generated documentation recommendations for CDI opportunities.

Assess the reasoning quality and appropriateness of AI-identified queries and their potential clinical and revenue impact.

Identify cases where AI recommendations diverge from compliant CDI practice and explain why.

Describe the clinical reasoning patterns behind documentation improvement opportunities to our product team to improve AI recommendations โ€” particularly how to recognize CC/MCC indicators from indirect clinical signals, how to distinguish defensible queries from leading ones, and how to balance query effectiveness with physician relationships.

Critique presentations and provide subject matter expertise to our GTM team.

Required Credentials:

Minimum 1 year CDI experience in an acute care setting.

Familiarity with MS-DRG and APR-DRG methodology, SOI/ROM scoring, and quality metrics (PSI, HAC, mortality).

CDIP, CCDS, or AHIMA, (RN good to have) Certification

Familiarity with at least one major EHR (Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
