Job description

PR Coordinator
Early-Career Operators Welcome to Apply
Seeking.com | Full-Time, Exempt, Remote (US) | Reports to: Senior PR Manager
About the Role
Seeking.com is the world's largest premium dating platform, and we are in the middle of the most important chapter of our brand transformation. The PR Coordinator is the entry seat onto our in-house PR and Communications team, reporting to the Senior PR Manager. This is one of the best roles in the company for a hungry, early-career operator who wants to learn PR by doing it, in a small team that ships fast.
You will not be making the coffee. From week one you will be drafting pitches, tracking media coverage, supporting the casting of Seeking members for press interviews, building media lists, and learning how to pitch journalists from someone doing it at a senior level. You will also be on-call to step in front of a camera or microphone yourself when needed.
This is the right role for someone two years out of school (or with one to two years of PR or journalism experience) who is hungry, organized, AI-native, and willing to do the work. The job is not glamorous every day. Done well, it is the fastest way to become a PR Specialist or Senior PR Manager in three to five years.
Who Should Apply
We care about wiring more than resume. We are especially open to candidates from these backgrounds:
  • New PR agency hires (Assistant Account Executive to Account Executive) looking for in-house experience
  • Recent journalism or communications graduates with one or two internships and a portfolio of clips
  • Early-career marketing coordinators ready to specialize in PR and communications
  • Newsroom interns or junior reporters ready to cross to the PR side
  • Self-taught communicators with a strong portfolio and a clear voice, even if the resume is non-linear

If you are early in your career, hungry, organized, and would rather be useful on day one than wait for someone to onboard you, this role is for you.
Core Responsibilities
PR Operations & Media Support
  • Draft press releases, media alerts, pitch emails, Q&As, fact sheets, executive bios, and briefing documents for review by the Senior PR Manager and PR Specialist
  • Support incoming media requests by gathering information and routing approvals internally
  • Maintain media lists, pitch calendars, and journalist contact databases
  • Monitor and organize daily media coverage; prepare summaries and internal reports
  • Research journalists, influencers, podcasts, and media opportunities relevant to the brand
  • Support outreach efforts to media contacts and influencers under the Senior PR Manager's and PR Specialist's direction
  • Help create media kits, fact sheets, executive bios, Q&As, and briefing documents
  • Track competitor PR activity and flag interesting items to the team
  • Help coordinate award submissions and speaking opportunities
  • Identify PR opportunities through Qwoted, HARO, and similar platforms daily
  • Surface trending topics and cultural conversations the team should consider hijacking
  • Flag potential reputation or media risks to the Senior PR Manager when identified
Member Casting & Storyteller Book Support
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Seeking member casting book under the PR Specialist's direction
  • Help recruit and vet new members for the book
  • Prepare member briefing packets ahead of press interviews (outlet, journalist, angle, talking points)
  • Help match members to journalist interview requests and coordinate availability
  • Manage NDAs, consent forms, and post-interview follow-ups for member interviewees
  • Keep the casting book tagged, searchable, and current
Spokesperson Willingness
  • Be willing to participate in interviews and serve as a spokesperson for Seeking.com when needed
  • Complete media training as the company offers it and build personal comfort on camera, in audio, and with reporters
  • Step in for the Senior PR Manager or PR Specialist when they are unavailable for a lower-stakes media opportunity
  • Coordinate with the Senior PR Manager and legal on any spokesperson appearance with reputational sensitivity
Agency & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Support day-to-day communication with our outside agency partners in the UK and US
  • Schedule meetings and maintain calendars for PR initiatives
  • Track deadlines, deliverables, approvals, and follow-up items across projects
  • Help review agency materials for accuracy, formatting, and brand consistency
  • Prepare meeting notes, action items, and follow-up summaries
  • Share approved messaging, campaign updates, and brand guidelines with partners
Marketing Operations & Administrative Support
  • Create and update Jira tickets and maintain organized project workflows
  • Gather materials and agenda items for team meetings
  • Maintain calendars, trackers, and shared planning documents
  • Update SOPs and process documentation for recurring workflows
  • Support integrated campaign coordination across PR, creative, social, and digital teams
  • Maintain PR asset libraries: approved imagery, messaging documents, and executive materials
  • Proofread communications for grammar, formatting, tone, and brand consistency
Media Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitor daily media coverage across digital, print, broadcast, and social channels
  • Compile media coverage reports and basic PR performance metrics
  • Track media outreach activity and coverage opportunities in internal systems
  • Support coordination of interviews, press opportunities, and media activations
  • Help prepare weekly and monthly reporting summaries for leadership
Required Qualifications
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in PR, communications, marketing, journalism, media, or related roles (internships count)
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent track record
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities
  • AI fluency. You already use ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or similar tools in your daily workflow and can describe what you use them for
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Familiarity with PR and project management tools preferred (Google Alerts, Muck Rack, Cision; Jira, Asana, or Monday; Google Workspace and Microsoft Office)
  • Understanding of AP style and professional communications standards
  • Willingness to be media-trained and to participate in interviews as a spokesperson for Seeking.com when called on
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or junior agency experience in PR, communications, or media
  • Experience supporting media outreach or influencer coordination
  • Familiarity with premium, lifestyle, consumer tech, or dating brands
  • Experience in fast-paced startup or agency environments
  • Social media or content coordination experience
  • Published clips from a school paper, magazine, blog, or newsletter
  • Comfort with reputation work for brands that carry public-perception baggage
Critical Success Factors
  • Reliability: Things you own get done, on time, every time
  • Speed of Learning: You absorb feedback fast and you do not need to be told the same thing twice
  • Resourcefulness: You figure things out before you ask. When you do ask, you bring options, not just questions
  • Casting Support: Members in the book describe their interactions with you as warm, prepared, and professional
  • Camera Willingness: You are ready and willing to step in front of the camera when asked
  • AI as Leverage: You use AI as part of your daily workflow and your output reflects it
Cultural Fit: Who Thrives Here
Be honest with yourself about whether this is your environment:
  • You are hungry. You would rather be busy and learning than comfortable and stagnant
  • You are organized by nature. You make spreadsheets unprompted. You like a tidy inbox
  • You want to be coached, not coddled. You want a manager who pushes you and you can take direct feedback
  • You are willing to be on camera or behind a microphone yourself. PR people at Seeking are not just behind the scenes
  • You care about the dating and relationships space, or you are curious enough about it to become a student
  • You are comfortable working on a brand with public-perception baggage and helping change the narrative
  • You take ownership. You would rather fix something quietly than wait for someone to assign it
Day-in-the-Life
  • Morning media monitoring; compile a coverage summary by the team stand-up
  • Draft a pitch or press release for the Senior PR Manager and PR Specialist's review
  • Prep a member from the casting book for a journalist interview later in the day
  • Build a targeted media list for an upcoming campaign
  • Update Jira, the asset library, and shared trackers
  • Send the daily wrap-up to the team Slack with placements, opportunities flagged, and what is on deck for tomorrow
What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
  • You are seen as the team's most reliable operational partner; nothing falls through the cracks on your watch
  • Your draft work needs progressively less editing each quarter
  • The casting book is in better shape under your support than it was when you joined
  • You have stepped in as a spokesperson at least once, even on a small opportunity, and represented the brand well
  • Your AI workflows have made you measurably faster than peers without them
  • You have a clear development plan with your manager and you are on track to promote to PR Specialist within 18 to 24 months
Why This Role Matters
Every great PR function runs on the work of a great coordinator. The Senior PR Manager and PR Specialist will ship more, faster, and better because of you. The members in the casting book will have a smoother experience because of you. The agencies will run cleaner because of you. The work you do at this level shapes the foundation of a function that is responsible for transforming how millions of people perceive Seeking.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience
  • Full-time, exempt, fully remote within the US
  • Health, dental, vision, 401(k), and standard benefits package
  • A real career path. PR Coordinator to PR Specialist in 18 to 24 months for the right operator
