You can find case manager positions in both the medical field and the social work industry. In a role as a nurse case manager, you act as an advocate for patients. Your responsibilities are to recommend treatment options, establish a care plan, communicate with families and support groups, and coordinate inpatient and outpatient care. Job description

Our client, Latin America's first AI unicorn, backed by Founders Fund and Sequoia, has exclusively retained Solutus Legal Search to assist in its search for its first U.S. attorney, a Litigation Strategist. The company builds software that defends businesses against high volumes of individual litigation, gathering evidence, detecting fraud, supporting strategy development, and helping to generate responses, reducing the cost of litigation.ย

The company is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its growing U.S. legal team. Reporting directly to the company's Litigation Strategist, this individual will manage litigation matters, attend routine court proceedings, and collaborate with senior executives, outside counsel, and external business partners. This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, in or near San Mateo County.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Attend small claims hearings and other routine court proceedings at the San Mateo County Superior Court, serving as the company's authorized representative where permitted under applicable law.
  • Manage a portfolio of litigation matters, including maintaining case calendars, tracking deadlines, court orders, filings, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with the Litigation Strategist, outside counsel, and court personnel to prepare for hearings, monitor case progress, and ensure matters are handled efficiently.
  • Prepare case summaries, hearing materials, status reports, and litigation updates for internal stakeholders and external business partners.
  • Organize and maintain litigation files and court records while identifying and escalating significant case developments, risks, or issues.
  • Serve as a liaison among the legal team, senior executives, outside counsel, court personnel, and external business partners.
  • Support litigation operations, process improvements, and other legal projects as the company continues to build its U.S. legal function.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably supporting California civil litigation.
  • A bachelor's degree and a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with litigation case management, calendaring, court filings, hearing preparation, and case documentation.
  • Familiarity with California state court procedures; experience with the San Mateo County Superior Court and small claims proceedings is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A polished, professional presence with the ability to build effective relationships.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join an innovative, high-growth company and play an important role in building its U.S. legal function. The successful candidate will enjoy significant responsibility and autonomy while working closely with executive leadership on a sophisticated and evolving litigation portfolio.

Compensation is targeted at a base salary range of $130,000-$170,000, plus a bonus on cash or equity, and benefits. Base salary and overall compensation will be determined by several factors, including the candidate's qualifications and years of directly relevant experience.

Solutus has been retained as the exclusive representative for this desirable search.ย  Resumes submitted directly to our client will be forwarded to Solutus for review and evaluation.
