Location: Remote, US
Parmele Disability Advocates is seeking a mission-driven VA Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. This role combines the responsibilities of a practicing attorney with a specialized focus on representing veterans in their claims for disability compensation before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Board of Veterans’ Appeals. You will work collaboratively with a team of dedicated professionals to build strong, winning cases that change lives.
This is a unique opportunity to advocate for those who served, ensuring veterans receive the benefits they are rightfully entitled to. You will be responsible for legal strategy, case development, and direct representation of clients in VA disability matters.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients throughout the VA disability claims and appeals process, including at hearings before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals.
  • Prepare and review applications, appeals, and legal documentation to support claims.
  • Analyze medical records, VA decisions, service records, and other evidence to develop strong legal arguments.
  • Work closely with VA paralegals and Client Support Coordinators to ensure timely collection of records, client communication, and documentation.
  • Monitor case status via the VA and Board of Veterans’ Appeals systems and take appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation in the firm’s case management system.
  • Provide compassionate legal guidance to clients navigating the complexities of the VA system.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to a supportive, mission-driven culture.
Qualifications
  • Required: Active law license or ability to obtain licensure within one month of hire
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
