This full-time position allows for remote work, with core hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. As a mental health counselor, you will engage in virtual therapy sessions and collaborate closely with colleagues via telecommunication tools. • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health needs and develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans that address their specific challenges.
• Provide counseling services primarily for children and adolescents, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Offer direct support and interventions for clients experiencing trauma-related issues, including PTSD, using trauma-informed care methodologies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, adhering to all legal and ethical standards in documentation practices.
• Engage clients through behavior management strategies, fostering effective coping mechanisms tailored to their unique situations.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing treatment methodologies and improving client outcomes.
• Utilize various telehealth platforms to provide accessible mental health services, ensuring that clients receive timely and appropriate support.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team that includes prescribers, care managers, and support staff to ensure comprehensive client care.

Your work will primarily focus on vulnerable populations, including children, adolescents, and those recovering from traumatic experiences. By developing strong therapeutic relationships and creating a safe, non-judgmental environment, you will empower clients to enhance their emotional well-being and navigate their mental health journeys. Your empathetic approach will be crucial in addressing the unique challenges faced by these populations.

• A Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Active Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) licensure in the state of Vermont.
• A solid foundation in evidence-based therapeutic practices, particularly CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based interventions.
• Demonstrated expertise in patient assessment techniques and behavior management strategies.

• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in a mental health counseling role is required.
• Experience with telehealth services and digital patient management systems is highly desirable.
• Background in clinical research to contribute to innovative mental health practices is a plus.

The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $110,000 annually, complemented by a robust benefits package that includes:
