BGIS Integrated Technical Services (ITS) is seeking an experienced EMS Lead Installer to support installation, commissioning, and service projects for commercial customers across the United States.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S. You'll work from your home location between assignments and travel to customer sites nationwide to deliver Energy Management System (EMS) solutions that improve building performance, energy efficiency, and operational reliability.

As the technical lead on projects, you'll install and commission EMS technologies, support customers, mentor field technicians, and help ensure successful project execution from startup through completion.

What You'll Do

As an EMS Lead Installer, you'll serve as the lead technical resource on assigned projects, supporting installations from startup through commissioning and customer handoff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and service Energy Management Systems (EMS)
  • Install and connect sensors, meters, control panels, thermostats, lighting controls, and related equipment.
  • Perform electrical wiring, cable routing, and system connections in accordance with codes and safety standards.
  • Integrate EMS solutions with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and existing facility infrastructure.
  • Configure hardware and software used to monitor and manage energy consumption.
  • Perform startup, testing, commissioning, and system optimization.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, controls, communications, and system performance issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate installation and service documentation.
  • Prepare reports and project records as required.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the technical lead on installation projects.
  • Mentor and support field technicians.
  • Share best practices and technical knowledge across the organization.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of technicians as needed.
  • Promote safe work practices and compliance with company standards.

Customer Support

  • Interface directly with customers and project stakeholders
  • Explain system functionality and operational best practices.
  • Provide customer training and support following installation.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service and communication.

Travel Expectations

  • This role is fully remote and requires nationwide travel to support customer projects.
  • Candidates may be located anywhere within the United States.
  • Travel averages less than 50% annually.
  • Overnight travel may be required based on project needs.
  • Work is performed from your home location when not traveling.
  • All authorized travel expenses, lodging, and per diem are provided.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in facilities management, construction, controls, EMS, BAS, or related technical environments.
  • Experience installing, servicing, or troubleshooting energy management, controls, automation, or electrical systems.
  • 3+ years of customer-facing or account management experience

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, or technical training preferred.

Certifications

  • EPA Certification required.
  • Licenses
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
