Role Description The Cabinet Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in New Berlin, WI. This position is responsible for designing custom cabinetry solutions, including layout planning, material selection, and hardware specification, in alignment with client requirements and company standards. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with customers or sales representatives, creating detailed drawings and 3D renderings, preparing design proposals, and updating designs based on feedback. The role involves coordinating with production teams to ensure designs are accurate, and manufacturable. The Cabinet Designer also reviews project timelines, maintains organized records of designs and revisions, and supports continuous improvement in design processes and product offerings.

Qualifications

  • Ability to create detailed cabinet designs, including layouts, elevations, and 3D renderings using Chief Architect.
  • Strong spatial awareness and measurement skills, with the ability to read, interpret, and produce technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of cabinetry construction, materials, finishes, and hardware, including practical considerations for manufacturing and installation.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills for gathering requirements, presenting design options, and collaborating with internal teams.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to identify design issues and propose practical, aesthetically pleasing solutions.
  • Experience in cabinetry, millwork, interior design, or related fields is preferred; prior work in a manufacturing or woodworking environment is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or technical training in design is benefical.
