Description:

Remote

Our client seeks a senior business systems analyst to lead requirements and delivery across finance technology, spanning SAP ECC, SaaS platforms such as Workday and BlackLine, and homegrown applications. The role will drive clarity from ambiguity, convert finance objectives into system and data designs, and support a multi-year ERP transformation. The analyst will partner with finance stakeholders and technical teams to define end-to-end processes, integrations, and quality outcomes that reduce defects and accelerate execution.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $65.00 to $75.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

  • Lead working sessions with finance stakeholders across GL, AP, AR, close, and reporting.

  • Challenge and refine unclear requirements and translate problems into structured requirements and future-state process flows.

  • Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and data impacts early in the lifecycle.

  • Convert business needs into system behavior, data requirements, and integration logic across SAP ECC, future ERP, SaaS, and homegrown systems.

  • Partner with developers and architects to ensure feasibility, alignment, and end-to-end traceability.

  • Map upstream and downstream dependencies and data flows across multiple systems.

  • Support ERP transition activities including future-state definitions, data mapping and migration logic, and gap analysis.

  • Promote standardization and simplification of finance processes.

  • Use mockups, sample data, and rapid iterations to refine requirements and accelerate feedback.

  • Create developer-ready user stories with clear acceptance criteria and expected outcomes.

  • Support QA, UAT coordination, test case definition, and defect triage.

  • Maintain operational awareness of production issues, distinguish break/fix from enhancements, and collaborate with production support for root cause clarity.

Experience Requirements:

  • Strong business acumen across core finance processes including GL, AP, AR, close, and reporting.

  • Proven ability to lead requirements conversations, challenge assumptions, and drive clarity.

  • Hands-on experience translating business requirements into system behavior, data models, and integration specifications.

  • Experience operating in multi-system environments including SAP ECC, SaaS platforms such as Workday and BlackLine, and custom applications.

  • Background supporting ERP implementations or replacements, including current-to-future state design and gap analysis.

  • Demonstrated data mindset including mapping, reconciliation, and lineage practices.

  • Understanding of SaaS configuration versus customization, vendor constraints, and integration patterns.

  • Ability to work with undocumented or fragile homegrown systems and reverse-engineer behavior.

  • Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scripts, and supporting UAT and defect triage.

  • Comfort operating in fast-moving and ambiguous environments while maintaining structure and quality.
