Job description

Company Description

Circle Logistics is a third-party logistics (3PL) firm focused on delivering three core promises to our customers:

  • No Fail Service
  • Personalized Communication
  • Innovative Solutions

We leverage technology, industry experience, and employee ingenuity to provide industry-leading transportation solutions that keep America moving.

Job Description

Build New Business. Grow Relationships. Drive Results.

We're looking for a motivated, competitive Business Development Representative to join our growing freight brokerage team. This role is ideal for someone who already understands the freight brokerage industry and has experience prospecting, developing new customer relationships, and building a book of business-but doesn't necessarily have an existing customer portfolio to bring.

You'll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, winning new customers, and serving as the primary point of contact for your accounts. Our experienced operations team will manage the day-to-day execution of freight, allowing you to focus on growing revenue and strengthening customer relationships.

This is a high-performance sales role designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment and are motivated by uncapped earning potential.

What You'll Do

  • Prospect and generate new business through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, referrals, and other outbound sales activities.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified shipping opportunities.
  • Develop strong relationships with prospective and existing customers by understanding their transportation needs and presenting customized freight solutions.
  • Negotiate pricing and service offerings to create value for both the customer and the company.
  • Successfully onboard new customers and partner with our operations team to ensure seamless freight execution.
  • Manage and grow customer relationships by identifying additional shipping opportunities and delivering exceptional service.
  • Collaborate closely with operations to ensure customer expectations are met while maintaining ownership of the customer relationship.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity, pipeline updates, and forecasting.
  • Consistently achieve activity expectations, sales KPIs, and revenue goals.

What Success Looks Like

We believe in setting clear expectations and providing the support needed to achieve them. Successful Business Development Representatives embrace accountability, consistently execute outbound prospecting activities, and actively build a pipeline from day one.

As you progress through onboarding and training, you'll be expected to demonstrate measurable growth in your sales activity and pipeline development. Team members who are successful in this role are consistently meeting established performance expectations within their first few months and are building meaningful customer relationships that lead to new business. While every sales cycle is different, we expect representatives to gain traction quickly, with the goal of successfully onboarding customer business within approximately the first six months.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission.
  • No existing book of business required.
  • Dedicated operations team manages freight execution so you can stay focused on selling.
  • Remote opportunity for candidates located within the Eastern Time Zone, or work from our Toledo, OH office.
  • Industry-leading tools, technology, and sales support.
  • Career advancement opportunities within a growing freight brokerage.
  • Collaborative, high-energy culture that rewards performance and results.

Why You'll Love This Opportunity

If you're looking for more than just another sales job-and want the opportunity to build something of your own while being supported by an experienced operations team-this is the place for you. You'll have the autonomy to develop your customer base, the resources to help you succeed, and the earning potential to directly impact your income through performance.

Qualifications
    • Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a freight brokerage, selling freight brokerage services.
    • Experience prospecting and building a book of business through outbound sales efforts.
    • No existing book of business required.
    • Strong cold calling, prospecting, and relationship-building skills.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing abilities.
    • Highly motivated, resilient, and competitive with a strong desire to win.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
