Job description

Fliff unpacks sports gaming into social, free-to-play games for all types of sports fans. We've built a social sports gaming experience that allows users to compete for leaderboard positioning, to achieve badges and build their status within the game.
We are pioneering play-for-fun sports gaming, with our flagship social sportsbook experience that includes sweepstakes promotions and loyalty rewards. We provide sports fans with fun, engaging, and free-to-play alternatives to real money gaming.
The Role:
Our People Operations team is the backbone of the employee experience, from the moment a new hire accepts an offer to their first day and beyond. We're looking for a seasoned People Operations Specialist contractor to seamlessly cover an extended leave and provide additional support for our HR and payroll administration needs. This individual should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities, and serving as a trusted resource for employees and managers across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding & Pre-Onboarding
  • Run end-to-end onboarding for US employees and global contractors, from pre-boarding logistics through HR orientation and new hire check-ins.
  • Manage onboarding workflows, background checks, and system setup in Rippling.
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure a smooth, engaging new-hire experience.
  • Coordinate equipment shipments, onboarding documentation, and compliance requirements as needed.

HR Administration
  • Maintain employee records, documents, and HRIS data accuracy.
  • Support Rippling workflow builds, automation updates, and process improvements.
  • Assist with payroll processing, audits, reconciliations, and employee payroll inquiries.
  • Support benefits administration, employee changes, and offboarding processes.
  • Prepare HR reports and assist with audits, compliance requests, and internal documentation.
  • Assist with any HR projects or initiatives as directed by the HR Manager.

Employee Support & Communications
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, payroll, benefits, and people programs.
  • Provide timely ad hoc employee support via Slack, email, and internal ticketing systems.
  • Escalate sensitive employee relations matters appropriately.

Employee Engagement & Programs
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Support performance review cycles, employee surveys, and other people programs.
  • Assist with implementation and administration of HR policies and processes.

What We're Looking For:
  • 3+ years of People Operations experience
  • Hands-on experience with Rippling and BambooHR (onboarding workflows, review cycles, employee data management) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with payroll administration; familiarity with multi-state or multi-entity payroll a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and navigating ambiguity in a high-growth environment.
  • Experience supporting remote and globally distributed teams is a plus.
