Maximus is hiring a Project Director, Pursuit Management to provide strategic leadership and governance oversight for complex business development pursuits across multiple lines of business. This role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, driving pursuit readiness, schedule discipline, risk management, decision-making, and governance excellence to support successful business growth outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled leader with experience establishing pursuit management standards, guiding cross-functional teams, and ensuring consistent execution across a portfolio of opportunities. Success in this position requires the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, promote accountability, improve organizational visibility into pursuit health and readiness, and leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance reporting, operational efficiency, and decision support. This role plays a critical part in ensuring disciplined pursuit execution, proactive risk resolution, and effective governance practices across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own pursuit management and project governance standards across multiple lines of business.
- Provide strategic guidance to executives on pursuit readiness, schedule discipline, milestone priorities, risk exposure, and decision cadence.
- Establish expectations for project controls, schedule adherence, issue escalation, governance routines, and executive reporting.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure timely action closure, decision-making, and risk resolution.
- Champion responsible use of approved AI-enabled tools and automation to streamline pursuit operations, improve reporting consistency, and reduce administrative burden across teams.
• Guide consistent pursuit outcomes by monitoring portfolio readiness, milestone health, and management visibility across opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 10+ years of relevant professional experience required.
Program Requirements:
-Specialized experience needed: establishing or leading pursuit management/project governance standards across teams, portfolios, or multiple lines of business.
-Candidates should have experience designing operating rhythms, executive reporting expectations, project controls, escalation pathways, milestone health reporting, readiness reviews, issue management, and decision cadence.
-Must influence senior stakeholders, improve management visibility, standardize pursuit outcomes, and champion responsible use of approved AI-enabled tools and automation to improve reporting consistency and reduce administrative burden.
This position is fully remote and will require a home office.
Home office requirements:

Pay Transparency

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
