The Group IP Paralegal provides end-to-end operational support to Life Sciences IP Counsel, including multi-jurisdiction patent and trademark filings, docketing and deadline/diary management, and completion of formality-based actions. The role also supports M&A-related IP asset integration and divestiture activities and administers inventor remuneration processes.
This position reports to the Group Paralegal Manager and is part of IP Operations and will be fully remote.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Provide end to end support to IP Counsel(s), supporting formalities-based activities across the group for all IP topics, including patents, designs, trademarks, inventor bonus and copyrights.
  • Prepare, file and format patent/design, trademarks, and copyright documents for submission to the UK/SE/EP/PCT & USPTO as required, completing all associated docketing requirements within Danaher's IP management tool.
  • Instruct foreign outside counsel as appropriate at the foreign/national stage filing completing docketing activities.
  • Monitor Platform central IP mailbox, managing and maintaining the docketing as appropriate and communicating with IP counsel.
  • Support IP Counsel, preparing reports from Danaher's IP management tool and supporting integration and/or divestment of IP Assets resulting from M&A.

The essential requirements of the job include-
  • 4+ years' experience handling patent preparation and prosecution.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in use of IP docketing tools including IP Folio and other tools with a similar functionality.
  • Detailed knowledge of US, EP, and foreign patent and trademark law prosecution practices.
  • Data driven, detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical and systems administration skills.

The annual salary range for this role is $86,000-$91,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
