Senior Systems Automation Engineer (Remote)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Developer with a strong emphasis on UiPath to support a DoW agency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining robotic process automation (RPA) solutions and other automation to streamline our business processes, improve efficiency, and drive digital transformation. You will work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and other developers to identify automation opportunities and deliver robust, scalable, and secure automation solutions that comply with DoW standards.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze business processes, identify automation opportunities, and design efficient and scalable automation workflows.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy end-to-end automation solutions using the UiPath platform, including UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and Robots.
  • Develop reusable components, libraries, and frameworks to accelerate the development of future automation projects in accordance with DoW directives.
  • Integrate UiPath with other government systems using APIs, web services, and database connections while adhering to strict security protocols.
  • Create and execute test plans, and debug automation solutions to ensure they are reliable and free of errors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all automation solutions, including process design documents, solution design documents, and system security plans.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed automation, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of RPA governance, ensuring all automation solutions comply with DoW policies, coding standards, and deployment procedures.
  • Oversee complete application lifecycle management (ALM) for automation solutions, from initial requests and requirements gathering through development, testing, deployment, and eventual retirement.
  • Adhere to the change control process for all production automations, ensuring that any updates or modifications are properly tested, documented, and approved before deployment.
  • Implement in accordance with RPA best practices, DoW development standards, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure the quality and scalability of automation solutions.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to deliver successful automation projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • 5+ years of experience within Automation Engineering
  • Active Secret security clearance is required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain DoD IAT 2 certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
  • Proven hands-on experience with the UiPath platform, including UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and REFramework.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in languages such as VB.NET, C#, or Python.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business processes and design effective automation solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) within a government or defense context.

Preferred Qualifications
  • UiPath Certified Professional (UCP), UiPath Automation Developer Professional, UiPath Advanced RPA Developer (UiARD), or similar certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with DoD or other federal government systems and understanding of the associated security and compliance requirements preferred.
