What is a remote billing?

A Remote Billing job involves handling invoicing, payments, and financial transactions for a company while working from a remote location. Responsibilities may include processing invoices, verifying billing data, and ensuring accounts are accurate and up to date. Remote billing professionals often use accounting or billing software to manage records efficiently. This role is common in healthcare, finance, and other industries that require billing and payment management. Strong attention to detail and proficiency with billing systems are essential for success in this position.

What are the typical daily responsibilities for someone in a remote billing position?

In a Remote Billing role, your daily tasks often include preparing and sending invoices, monitoring outstanding payments, reconciling accounts, and addressing billing discrepancies with clients or internal teams. You may also be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing refunds, and assisting with month-end closing procedures. Communication with customers or colleagues via email and virtual meetings is common, ensuring efficient issue resolution and payment processing. This structure allows you to work independently while staying connected with your team to meet organizational billing goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote billing position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Remote Billing, you need a strong background in accounting or finance, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately manage invoices and reconcile accounts. Familiarity with billing software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or specialized healthcare billing platforms, as well as knowledge of relevant regulations, is often required. Excellent time management, organization, and clear written communication are key soft skills for success. These skills ensure accurate and timely billing, minimize errors, and promote smooth remote collaboration with clients and internal teams.

Can you work from home for remote billing?

Remote billing jobs are often designed to be performed from home, allowing employees to manage billing processes using computers and billing software. These roles typically require good organizational skills, attention to detail, and sometimes specific certifications or experience with billing systems. Many companies offer remote billing positions with flexible schedules, making work-from-home arrangements common in this field.

How much can remote billing earn?

Remote billing professionals typically earn between $35,000 and $70,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and the complexity of billing tasks. Advanced roles or those with specialized skills may earn higher salaries, especially with experience in healthcare or insurance billing systems.

How to become a remote billing specialist?

To become a remote billing specialist, you typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, along with experience in billing, accounting, or healthcare administration. Familiarity with billing software, strong attention to detail, and good communication skills are essential; some roles may require certification in medical billing or accounting. Gaining proficiency in tools like Excel and billing platforms can improve job prospects in a remote setting.

Job description

Role Overview

Intuit is undergoing a major transformation to modernize, unify, and scale our global partner ecosystem. The Global Partner Program (GPP) is our unified GTM framework designed to standardize enrollment, tiering, commercial benefits, and support experiences for all partner tracks-including Accountants, Value-Added Resellers (VARs), Developers, and ISVs-under a single platform: the Intuit Partner Suite (IPS).

As Manager, Partner Program Operations, you will build and lead the team that runs GPP day to day: partner onboarding and lifecycle, tiering and incentives, tier-aware support, co-sell protection, and the governance that holds it all together. You will own the redefined Sales Ops remit for GPP - the single interface into Systems/Engineering, BRD and SOP ownership, incentive and automation design, and the unified operating rhythm that keeps Partner Program and Sales aligned. This is a ground-floor role: you will hire, coach, and grow a small team while standing up the operating model itself.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Build & Lead the Team: Hire, onboard, and manage a small mixed team of FTEs and contract workers; set priorities, coach for growth, and size the team against the GPP staffing model as scope scales.

  • Own GPP Operations End to End: Be accountable for all aspects of partner program operations - onboarding & lifecycle, performance & tiering, tier-aware support, co-sell & lead protection, benefits & incentives, and governance & exceptions - ensuring policy, process, and systems stay in lockstep.

  • Redefine the Sales Ops Remit for GPP: Own the transition of steady-state technical execution from PMO to this team; be the single point of accountability for BRD/SOP ownership, incentive and automation design (wholesale billing, PRM mechanics, MDF), and the unified operating model.

  • Program & Incentive Ops: Own the execution of partner tiering, segmentation, comp plans, and rules of engagement - operationalizing GPP even as supporting tooling catches up.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Represent Partner Program Operations with GPP Program Design, Partner Sales, Data and Systems Engineering , Enablement, Finance, and Legal.

  • Launch Readiness: Drive the team's execution against the Global Partner Program's launch and the ongoing migration of legacy partners onto the new platform.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Operations Leadership: 7+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Program Management, Partner/Channel Operations, or a related field.

  • People Management: 2+ years of people management experience, or demonstrated experience building and leading teams, contractors, or cross-functional programs.

  • Zero-to-One Builder: Proven experience standing up or scaling an operations function from the ground up - process, systems, and team, in that order.

  • Technical Fluency: Comfort owning technical/systems-adjacent scope (BRDs, PRM/CRM platforms, automation) without being an engineer - you translate between business and technical teams.

  • Program Rigor: Strong analytical and program-management discipline - able to run a multi-workstream operating cadence (WBR/QBR) and hold cross-functional partners accountable.

  • Executive Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with credibility to influence senior leaders (VP level and above) and engineering partners alike.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with Global Partner Program-style tiered partner ecosystems (VAR, reseller, ISV, or developer programs).

  • Familiarity with PRM platforms (Salesforce PRM, Impartner, ZiftONE), incentive/compensation systems (Varicent), and deal-desk/quoting tools.

  • Experience managing a blended team of FTEs and contract workers.

  • Prior experience in a SaaS, fintech, or subscription business.
