The Joy of Hope Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. • Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients and document case histories accurately from the initial consultation through treatment completion.
• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health, identifying their individual needs and challenges to develop targeted treatment strategies.
• Create and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans suitable for various client demographics—including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, adapting therapeutic techniques to meet client needs and ensure effective outcomes.
• Regularly monitor patient progress throughout the treatment timeline, making necessary adjustments to intervention plans based on their evolving needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including other mental health specialists, physicians, and social workers, to provide holistic care and create comprehensive intervention strategies.
• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians to monitor clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring continuity of care.
• Recognize and mitigate any behaviors that could hinder recovery, providing clients and their families with practical strategies to support mental wellness.
• Assist family members and caregivers in managing mental and behavioral challenges, offering guidance and resources for support.

At Joy of Hope, you will work with a diverse population of clients facing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, trauma, and relationship issues. Our patient management approach is rooted in understanding the unique cultural, socioeconomic, and personal contexts of each client, allowing for tailored care that respects their individuality and fosters positive outcomes.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
• In-depth understanding of the impact of mental health on physical health and experience in working with clients facing co-occurring conditions.
• Strong foundation in best practices as set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong capacity for building rapport and fostering trust with clients.

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating effectiveness in therapeutic intervention.
• Background in addressing substance use disorders and understanding the role of prescribed medications in treatment.
• Experience in facilitating group therapy sessions and providing family support.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a sign-on bonus.
