Job description

RSI is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing support to individuals with developmental, physical, and mental health disabilities throughout East Central Minnesota.
This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work remotely while providing meaningful, person-centered nursing services. Approximately half of the work may be completed remotely, with a minimum of two days per week spent providing on-site support at RSI's programs in East Central Minnesota.
The RN will provide nursing support to:
  • Lotus Grace, RSI's 24/7 Residential Crisis Stabilization (RCS) and Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) program in Cambridge, MN; and
  • Individuals receiving services in RSI's residential foster care homes throughout East Central Minnesota.

The typical schedule is Monday through Friday during regular business hours, with flexibility to meet program and individual needs. Weekend and holiday work is generally not required, aside from occasional phone support as part of the nursing on-call rotation.
Travel
Travel to RSI programs throughout East Central Minnesota is required for a minimum of two days each week. Mileage reimbursement is provided for work-related travel between program locations.
To support candidates commuting from outside East Central Minnesota, RSI offers additional travel incentives. Eligible candidates commuting from outside the region will have their travel time to on-site work locations counted as paid work time and may receive a commuting stipend.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
About Lotus Grace:
Nestled on a peaceful 20-acre hobby farm, Lotus Grace provides a supportive, home-like environment for up to five individuals. Lotus Grace is dedicated to addressing mental health needs within the community by offering immediate, person-centered support in a licensed residential setting for individuals experiencing mental health crises. The program's unique nature-based environment - featuring open green space and a variety of farm animals - fosters healing, personal growth, and recovery in a calm and therapeutic atmosphere. This position will provide at least 8 hours of on-site support at Lotus weekly.
Salary: $76,000-$79,000 annually

Key Job Duties:
  • Complete person-served assessments upon admission and develop medical care plans.
  • Monitor and treat the physical and mental health needs of service recipients, coordinating appropriate follow-up care.
  • Responsible for the delegation, training, and accurate documentation of medication administration.
  • Support the professional growth and development of staff at assigned programs through effective performance management and training.
  • Provide staff training on medication administration, program procedures, and individualized care needs while monitoring compliance and follow-through.
  • Oversee medical documentation and appointment scheduling.
  • Monitor and coordinate the ordering of medications, medical supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain familiarity and compliance with applicable Minnesota Statutes and rules.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Infection Control Plans and ensure adherence to OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen standards.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call telephone nursing schedule with additional compensation provided.
  • Able to travel distances to assist with trainings and/or meetings.

For this position, you will need:
  • To pass a post-offer background and MVR check
  • A valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • To possess a current Minnesota RN license with a preference given to candidates with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience working with people with various disabilities.

You will also need to meet one of the following Mental Health Practitioner qualification requirements:
  1. Have at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related field and 2000 hours of experience with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorder, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities; or
  2. Have at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related field and havecompleted a practicum or internship that focused on behavioral sciences or related field that required direct interaction with individuals served; or
  3. Have 4000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorder, traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities; or
  4. Have 2000 hours of experience providing services to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorder, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities and receive treatment supervision at least once per week until obtaining 4000 hours of experience; or
  5. Have a master's or other graduate degree in a behavioral sciences or related field.
