Job description

Position Overview

Talk Consult Behavioral Health Services is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team remotely. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity for an empathetic professional to engage with a diverse client base, focusing on improving mental health outcomes for individuals facing complex mood disorders. The role encompasses both patient care and collaborative work environments, contributing significantly to the well-being of clients in need.

About the Organization

At Talk Consult Behavioral Health Services, we pride ourselves on delivering comprehensive mental health services shaped by a commitment to foster positive change in our community. We serve a wide spectrum of individuals and families, focusing on providing accessible care that respects each client's unique journey. Our team of experienced therapists ensures that services are both effective and tailored to the specific needs of our clients, helping individuals regain stability and achieve their mental health goals.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility as you provide care from the comfort of your home or a preferred workspace. While you will primarily engage with clients virtually, the outpatient office setting facilitates an integrated approach to client care, encouraging collaboration with other healthcare practitioners when necessary. The role embraces a structured work schedule, with hours set from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, promoting a work-life balance while allowing you to focus on therapeutic practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the severity and impact of mood disorder symptoms in clients, utilizing both standardized tools and personal interviews.
  • Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans that reflect their personal needs, objectives, and preferences, ensuring a client-centered approach.
  • Implement evidence-based therapy techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate recovery and skill development.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies tailored to their unique circumstances.
  • Monitor and track client progress consistently, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on emerging needs or responses to therapy.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and comprehensive care.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment, incorporating new knowledge into practice to enhance therapeutic efficacy.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential records in alignment with legal and ethical standards to ensure the integrity of client care.
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities to promote continuous learning and clinical excellence.
  • Advocate for clientsโ€™ mental health needs and work actively to reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions, fostering an environment of support and understanding.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our therapists specialize in working with individuals suffering from mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, you may encounter clients from diverse backgrounds, including vulnerable populations such as the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse. Your role as a therapist is not only to provide direct clinical support but also to ensure these individuals feel heard and valued in a therapeutic setting, contributing to their overall recovery and empowerment.

Qualifications
  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A masterโ€™s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is mandatory to ensure a strong foundation in clinical practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are vital for establishing trusting relationships with clients.
  • Empathy, warmth, and a nonjudgmental attitude are essential traits for effectively connecting with clients and understanding their experiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management abilities are crucial for efficiently handling caseloads and administrative duties.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting, particularly with mood disorder treatment, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based treatment methodologies and up-to-date certifications in relevant therapeutic techniques will be an asset.
  • Advanced skills in telehealth therapy and client engagement through digital platforms are preferred given the remote nature of this position.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, a retirement plan, and health insurance options to support your well-being.
  • Continuous educational opportunities and professional development to enhance your skills, particularly in the area of addiction counseling.
  • Supportive and collaborative work culture with ongoing mentorship and guidance to facilitate professional growth.
  • An impactful role that allows you to contribute to the lives of individuals striving for mental health improvement and long-term recovery.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Talk Consult Behavioral Health Services, we value professional development and career progression. As part of our team, you will have opportunities to advance your skills through specialized training and certification programs. We encourage our therapists to pursue leadership roles and may provide mentorship for those interested in taking on additional responsibilities within the organization.
