Job Brief

The Staff Accountant will support full cycle accounts receivable, commission and royalty calculations, and month-end general ledger accounting. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

All positions at Astura report to the office daily and we do not have remote or hybrid opportunities currently. Normal work hours are from 8 am to 5 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Accounts Receivable invoice posting and email distribution to customers
  • Process daily remote bank deposits and recording of AR cash receipts
  • Daily cash and collections reporting
  • Respond to customer invoice inquiries, research and resolve invoices discrepancies, communicate and work with the Customer Service Department on invoice issues
  • Support collection efforts and customer follow-up on past due balances
  • Assist with monthly processing of commission and royalties
  • Communicate and distribute account statements and respond to emails and inquiries from the sales team
  • Assist with month-end close process including recording of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely accounting of events and transactions
  • Assist with annual external audit requests and support schedules
  • Assist with year-end physical inventory counts
  • Perform other accounting and finance related duties as assigned, supporting the overall function of the team

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of accounting or finance experience
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong background in Excel
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and private information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • SAP Business One or other industry leading ERP system experience is a plus
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting required

Physical Requirements


This is largely a sedentary role; prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
