The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure in alignment with the organization's cloud strategy. This role helps drive the adoption, integration, and optimization of Azure services within the existing IT landscape, ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms.
The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer works on complex technical initiatives requiring deep expertise in Azure architecture, platform engineering, automation, and operational best practices. The role involves evaluating multiple technical and business factors, making independent decisions on architectural approaches, and delivering solutions that improve platform reliability, security, performance, and operational efficiency.

The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating enterprise solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role executes the organization's cloud strategy from a technical perspective, including architecture design, environment planning, integration, and ongoing operational support across GCP services.

The engineer partners with stakeholders across engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to evaluate existing systems and define fit-for-purpose solutions on GCP. This includes collaborating with product managers and developers to establish technical specifications for cloud-native applications, platform capabilities, and shared services.

This role drives the deployment, scaling, and continuous improvement of GCP platform capabilities, including infrastructure provisioning, cloud management tooling, and automation. The engineer evaluates platform performance, identifies optimization opportunities, and implements enhancements to improve reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

Operating with a high degree of independence, the Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer makes technical decisions on complex initiatives, balancing architectural tradeoffs and enterprise standards. The role requires deep expertise in GCP services and cloud engineering practices, with responsibility for delivering resilient, scalable, and supportable solutions. This position also contributes to shaping platform engineering direction and influencing broader cloud strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent experience (5+ years in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering)
  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, or cloud-native solutions
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including core services such as compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring, and security
  • Experience implementing Azure platform capabilities, including:
    • Azure Landing Zones
    • Azure Policy
    • Azure RBAC
    • Azure Monitor
    • Azure Virtual Networking
    • Azure Resource Manager (ARM) or Bicep templates
  • 2+ years of experience developing and implementing cloud enablement strategies, onboarding frameworks, or shared platform services
  • 2+ years of experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices2+ years of experience with containerization and Kubernetes, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting production cloud workloads in enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, compliance, and operational best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead technical initiatives, and solve complex engineering challenges
  • Passion for delivering reliable, secure, and scalable cloud solutions while continuously improving customer and developer experiences

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
