Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)

Employment Type: Contract
Project Duration: Initial 6-month cloud migration with strong extension potential
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Engineer to support a large-scale Azure cloud migration and system refresh initiative. This role will play a critical part in designing, building, securing, and supporting Azure infrastructure as the client transitions workloads to the cloud over the next six months. The position is fully remote and supports a federal environment, requiring an active Secret clearance and Security+ certification.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and configure Azure infrastructure including Azure Virtual Machines, VNETs, NSGs, storage accounts, Azure Load Balancer, and Azure PaaS services
  • Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and infrastructure automation practices
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Security Center, and Application Insights
  • Troubleshoot Azure infrastructure, networking, and platform issues in a production environment
  • Support automation and scripting efforts using PowerShell and Bash
  • Implement cloud security controls, governance policies, and best practices aligned to federal requirements
  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and security teams during the cloud migration lifecycle

Required Technical Skills
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure core services
  • Strong experience with Azure compute, storage, networking, and PaaS offerings
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation
  • Proficiency with PowerShell and/or Bash scripting
  • Knowledge of cloud security, identity management, governance, and monitoring
  • Experience supporting production cloud environments and troubleshooting complex issues

Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance (required to start)
  • CompTIA Security+ (required)
  • Experience supporting or migrating systems to Azure in an enterprise or government environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a 100% remote setting
