The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for analyzing, validating, cleansing, and performing ETL of enterprise data into the firm's finance applications, as well as creating validation reports utilizing database technologies and financial software. The Senior Data Engineer will build and maintain small, curated datasets and a centralized data lake integrating data from multiple cloud-based applications and Azure databases and will support data retrieval and analysis through Power BI dashboards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes and data structures following best practices.

  • Work with data integration (ETL), data modeling, data quality, data governance, enterprise data warehouse (EDW), and analytical tools.

  • Develop efficient SQL stored procedures, views, and queries with a strong understanding of data structures, data integrity, and indexing.

  • Utilize SSIS, SSRS, and SSMS for ETL, reporting, and analysis of data.

  • Retrieve data from cloud applications using Azure SQL and build a centralized data lake integrating multiple cloud-based applications and Azure databases.

  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards for data analysis and business reporting.

  • Creating Python scripts to automate internal tasks.

  • Creating Power Automate and Power Apps workflows for internal teams/departments.

  • Act as a knowledge resource and facilitator for data retrieval in support of all administrative business units.

  • Identify opportunities to drive innovation, improve data processes, and enhance the accuracy, reliability, and usability of information.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong SQL and data engineering skills.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure, APIs, Microsoft Fabric, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Python.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to add value, build efficiency, and improve accuracy and reliability of information.

  • Strong awareness of deadlines and commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.

  • High level of discretion and sensitivity to confidential information.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to synthesize information from a wide variety of sources and produce clear, concise, client-ready deliverables.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and related tools such as Excel, SSRS, Power Apps and PowerShell.

  • Blend of technical and business skills, along with strong interpersonal skills, developed through experience in data analysis, database design, and application development.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience with ETL, data integration and migration, and strong SQL.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with Datawarehouse technologies, Power BI development and administration, and working with and translating company financial data into executive-level reports and KPI's.

  • Experience in creating and deploying ETL processes using SSIS required.

  • Hands-on experience to create Python scripts and automate the internal processes required.

  • Experience with Fabric and Aderant preferred.

  • Prior law firm or professional services experience beneficial.

Hiring Salary Range:

$120,000.00 - $170,000.00
