Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Golang Developer based in Netherlands.

This role is focused on building and scaling high-performance backend systems that power a global, high-traffic platform. You will work at the core of a modern cloud-native architecture, developing robust Go services and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of critical infrastructure. The position combines hands-on engineering with ownership of AWS environments, giving you direct influence over system design, performance, and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with architects and senior engineers to align technical decisions with long-term platform strategy. The environment is fast-paced, innovation-driven, and highly collaborative, where engineers are encouraged to take ownership and contribute to architectural direction. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex backend challenges at scale.

Accountabilities:

Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs in Go, while ensuring system stability, performance, and long-term maintainability. You will also take ownership of cloud infrastructure and contribute to architectural decisions that shape the platform's evolution.

  • Develop and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Go
  • Own AWS infrastructure, including provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and cost optimization
  • Collaborate with software architects to align backend implementation with long-term system design
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure system reliability and scalability
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical and architectural discussions
  • Support improvements in system design, scalability, and operational excellence
  • Ensure backend systems are optimized for high availability and large-scale traffic
Requirements:

Strong experience in backend engineering with deep expertise in Go and a solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. You are confident working in high-scale environments and contributing to both implementation and technical design.

  • 5-6 years of experience building production-grade backend systems using Go
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, REST API design, and relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-performance environments
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Experience using AI tools effectively in engineering workflows
  • Background in iGaming or Fintech is a plus
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary package
  • Fully remote or hybrid work options across Europe
  • 28 days paid leave plus public holidays (for remote employees)
  • Opportunity to own critical backend systems in a global platform
  • High-impact engineering role with real technical autonomy
  • Collaborative and innovation-driven engineering culture
  • Exposure to large-scale distributed systems and modern cloud infrastructure
  • Career growth opportunities in a fast-scaling international environment
