Job Description
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
The project supports the design, development, administration, and ongoing operation of AWS-hosted applications, infrastructure, and services. The AWS Developer / Administrator will be responsible for supporting cloud-native and hybrid workloads, ensuring secure and compliant operations, and enabling scalable solutions across multiple AWS services.
The role will support production and non-production environments and must ensure alignment with applicable security standards, architectural guidelines, and operational best practices.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The AWS Developer / Administrator will provide technical expertise for the design, development, deployment, administration, and support of Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments. This role works closely with cloud engineering, application development, security, and operations teams to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable cloud solutions.
The candidate will support AWS infrastructure, application services, integrations, and automation efforts, while ensuring operational stability, performance, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Major responsibilities of this position include the following:
Design, deploy, and administer AWS environments following best practices
Support AWS account structure, IAM roles, policies, and least-privilege access
Develop and maintain solutions using AWS services including (but not limited to):
Amazon EC2, Auto Scaling, and Elastic Load Balancing
Amazon VPC, subnets, routing, and security controls
Amazon S3, EBS, EFS, and data lifecycle policies
AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and serverless architectures
Amazon CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config
Develop and support Amazon Connect contact center environments, including: Contact flows, queues, routing profiles, and prompts
Integrations with AWS Lambda, APIs, and external systems
Call recording, analytics, and troubleshooting
Design and integrate AI-enabled solutions using Amazon Bedrock where applicable
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalent tools
Monitor system performance, availability, and cost optimization opportunities
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues
Support CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
Collaborate with security teams to implement encryption, logging, monitoring, and compliance controls
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams
Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to team members
Participate in scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and after-hours support as required
REQUIRED SKILLS
In order of importance:
6+ years of overall IT experience supporting enterprise systems
3+ years of hands-on AWS experience in development and/or administration
3+ years of experience with AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and Lambda)
3+ years of experience with Amazon Connect and/or contact center technologies
3+ years of experience integrating APIs, serverless functions, and cloud-native services
3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation
3+ years of experience with security best practices, logging, and monitoring in AWS
3+ years of scripting experience (Python, Bash, or equivalent)
PREFERRED SKILLS
In order of importance:
Experience with AI/ML integrations and prompt engineering
Experience with hybrid cloud or third-party integrations
Cost optimization and FinOps experience
Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services and Hybrid Cloud Architectures
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional OR AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
PREFERRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305)
