Job description

Position : Devops Architect
Location: Remote
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end DevOps architecture for Zayo's critical platforms across cloud, CI/CD, security, and automation.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and resilient solutions leveraging Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native patterns.
  • Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines using best-in-class tools (Azure DevOps / Jenkins / GitHub / GitLab).
  • Establish standards for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar.
  • Drive automation-first strategy across build, release, deployment, observability, and configuration management.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, DB, SRE, and security teams to streamline delivery pipelines.
  • Implement monitoring & observability using tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.
  • Oversee DevSecOps integration, ensuring security gates and compliance controls.
  • Engage with Zayo's Directors, Engineering Heads, and Product Teams for planning, architecture reviews, and roadmap execution.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and guide teams on performance, scalability, and reliability improvements.
  • Mentor teams and promote best practices, automation, documentation, and continuous improvement culture.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 12+ years of overall IT experience with 7+ years in DevOps and Cloud architecture.
  • Strong experience in AWS or Azure architecture (multi-cloud experience is a plus).
  • Expertise in Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE), Docker, Helm, and container orchestration.
  • Hands-on with CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC tools.
  • Expertise in Linux administration, networking concepts, firewalls, VPC/VNet design.
  • Deep understanding of microservices, API gateways, service mesh (Istio/Linkerd).
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps, secrets management, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Strong understanding of observability setups-logs, metrics, traces.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with onsite customer leadership.

Good to Have
  • Experience with Zuora Billing, telecom domain, or OSS/BSS systems.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, integration patterns, and automation workflows.
  • Exposure to FinOps, cost optimization, and cloud governance models.
  • Prior experience working in large-scale modernization or re-engineering programs
