Job description

Italian Audio Transcript Editor (AI Training)
About the Role
Switzerland's Italian-speaking community has a rare and valuable combination - a deep command of Italian alongside a culture of precision and rigour. We're looking for Italian Audio Transcript Editors based in Switzerland to clean up, correct, and perfect audio transcripts that teach AI systems to understand spoken Italian with real accuracy.
This is hands-on, focused work at the intersection of language, audio, and AI. You'll listen carefully, compare what you hear against existing transcripts, and make word-level corrections that matter. If you take pride in getting every syllable right, this role was made for you.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No AI background needed - just native-level Italian, strong listening skills, and the discipline to follow detailed guidelines with consistency.

    : Remote
  • Commitment
    : 10-40 hours/week

What You'll Do
  • Listen to Italian audio recordings and compare them against existing transcripts
  • Correct errors at the word level - fixing misspellings, missing words, incorrect punctuation, and misheard phrases
  • Adjust and verify exact timing and alignment of transcript segments
  • Follow detailed style and formatting guidelines with precision and consistency
  • Flag audio quality issues, ambiguous speech, or segments requiring further review
  • Maintain high accuracy and quality standards across large volumes of transcription tasks
  • Work independently and asynchronously - fully on your own schedule

Who You Are
  • Native or near-native fluency in Italian - you catch nuances, dialects, and colloquialisms that others miss
  • Excellent listening skills with the patience to replay and verify difficult audio passages
  • Extremely detail-oriented - you care about getting every word, space, and timestamp right
  • Comfortable following structured, detailed formatting and style guidelines
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently through repetitive, precision-focused tasks
  • Proficient with computer-based tools and comfortable navigating web-based platforms

Nice to Have
  • Experience as a transcriptionist, court reporter, or stenographer
  • Background in subtitle editing, closed-captioning, or audio post-production
  • Training or experience in linguistics, phonetics, or language annotation
  • Prior work with annotation platforms, data labeling tools, or AI training workflows
  • Familiarity with Italian regional dialects and Ticinese speech patterns
  • Experience in translation, localization, or editorial work across Swiss or Italian markets

Why Join Us
  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible - work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Contribute to AI development that directly improves how technology processes and understands spoken Italian
  • Develop and sharpen highly marketable transcription and annotation skills
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
