Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments and screenings to identify patients' emotional and psychological needs; develop personalized treatment plans that reflect their individual challenges.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) tailored for hospice care.
• Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the integration of mental health services with medical care, providing holistic support for patients and families.
• Offer education and resources to family members, fostering an environment of understanding and support throughout the patients’ care journey.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records that adhere to ethical guidelines, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Engage in regular supervision and participate in team meetings to maximize collaborative care efforts and stay updated on relevant healthcare practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in our hospice program, you will work primarily with patients facing terminal illnesses and their families. Your expertise will aid in addressing complex emotional responses, including grief, anxiety, and existential distress, while providing comfort and therapeutic care during this critical phase of life.

Qualifications

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling is required; a Master’s or Doctoral degree is preferred.
• A strong foundation in mental health counseling, with knowledge in psychological assessments and treatment interventions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of establishing rapport with both patients and their families.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple caseloads effectively while maintaining high standards of care.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a mental health professional, particularly in settings that focus on hospice or palliative care.
• Experience employing evidence-based techniques for diverse mental health issues and educating families about the mental and emotional aspects of terminal illness.
• Awareness of ethical issues specific to end-of-life care and mental health treatment, enabling sensitive and supportive communication.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $104,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
