• Conduct thorough preliminary assessments and maintain meticulous documentation from initial consultations to the culmination of treatment, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each patient's unique situation.
• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health, utilizing evidence-based practices to inform treatment decisions.
• Design individualized intervention and recovery plans tailored not only for individuals but also for couples and families, emphasizing collaborative goal-setting with clients.
• Lead engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere for participants to share and explore their experiences.
• Continuously monitor patient progress throughout the treatment plan and adjust interventions as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
• Work closely with other mental health specialists as well as medical professionals to develop integrated intervention strategies, demonstrating an interdisciplinary approach to client care.
• Facilitate follow-ups with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
• Identify and prevent behaviors that may interfere with recovery, providing proactive support and crisis intervention when needed.
• Offer guidance and resources to family members and primary caregivers to help them manage behavioral and emotional challenges effectively.

This position requires dedication to serving a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing various mental health challenges. Counselors will be equipped to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, substance use, and more, guiding clients towards a holistic recovery and improved quality of life.

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Must hold a current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Previous experience as a mental health counselor with a track record of successful client outcomes.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for efficient documentation and patient management.
• Demonstrated experience dealing with co-occurring disorders, underscoring an understanding of both mental and physical health conditions.

• Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth knowledge of pharmacological treatments as they relate to mental health care and how these affect therapeutic processes.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and compassionately.
• Strong interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with clients, colleagues, and community partners alike.

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
