What are Remote Assistant Video Editors?

Remote Assistant Video Editors are professionals who support video editing projects from a remote location, often working from home or another off-site setting. Their responsibilities typically include organizing raw footage, assembling video sequences, adding basic effects or transitions, syncing audio, and preparing files for the lead editor. They collaborate with senior editors and content creators using online tools and cloud-based platforms to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery. This role requires proficiency in video editing software, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to coordinate tasks remotely.

What are some common challenges faced by remote assistant video editors and how can they be overcome?

Remote assistant video editors often face challenges such as communication gaps with the lead editor or creative team, managing large file transfers, and maintaining consistent workflow across different time zones. To overcome these obstacles, it's important to establish clear channels for communication, use collaborative editing software like Frame.io or Adobe Team Projects, and set regular check-ins to align on project goals. Staying organized with project management tools and having a reliable internet connection are also key to ensuring smooth collaboration and timely delivery of edits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Assistant Video Editor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Assistant Video Editor, you need a foundational understanding of video editing principles, familiarity with editing workflows, and often a degree or certification in film, media, or a related field. Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and cloud-based collaboration tools is typically required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication are important soft skills for managing tasks and collaborating with remote teams. These skills ensure high-quality, timely video production and effective teamwork while working remotely.

Job description

About ACQ Media
ACQ Media is the in-house media engine behind Acquisition.com and its portfolio of brands led by Alex Hormozi, Leila Hormozi, and Sharran Srivatsaa.
Our mission is to build the leading business media organization in the world by 2030.
We produce high-performance long-form series, podcasts, and daily social content that reach millions of people around the globe. Our content is not vanity media, it is designed to drive measurable reach, deepen brand influence, and create downstream business impact across the entire Acquisition.com ecosystem.
We operate like a studio, not a startup content team. That means structured workflows, batch production, clear performance metrics, and an aggressive commitment to innovation, especially through AI-native production systems.
We are building a repeatable content machine that compounds: more output, higher quality, faster iteration, stronger monetization, and deeper brand equity over time.
If you're joining ACQ Media, you're not here to just make content. You're here to help build a media powerhouse.
Responsibilities
Testimonial & Workshop Pipeline (Primary Lane)
  • Own the end-to-end post-production workflow for all Advisory Practice testimonial footage and workshop (L1, L3) captures.
  • Turn raw workshop footage into polished testimonial ads, VSLs, and marketing assets at high volume and consistent quality.
  • Intake, organize, and triage incoming footage against established ad formats and marketing priorities.
  • Maintain a clean backlog of ready-to-publish assets so the AP marketing team always has creative assets to deploy.

AI-Augmented Editing Workflows
  • Operate inside the automated AI short-form pipeline being built by the Media team - this is not optional, it's how throughput gets hit.
  • Use AI tools for rough cuts, transcription, sound cleanup, captioning, and clip repurposing as a core part of daily workflow, not a supplement.
  • Contribute feedback to improve the AI pipeline as you use it; flag what's working and what needs refinement.
  • Consistently apply AI-assisted workflows to compress edit cycles without degrading quality or compliance standards.

Craft & Quality
  • Edit to direct-response standards: hooks, pacing, emotional arc, and clear CTAs that drive program consideration.
  • Apply ACQ Media file naming conventions, server workflows, and asset management standards from day one.
  • Maintain FTC-compliant disclaimer standards on all testimonial content per internal compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Advisory Practice marketing team on creative direction, ad testing priorities, and revision feedback.

Throughput & Reliability
  • Hit weekly output targets for ad volume - this is a production role and velocity matters.
  • Communicate blockers early and keep project boards current so nothing falls through.
  • Flex to Media team content projects when AP workload dips.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio that includes direct-response or performance marketing content (ads, VSLs, testimonials strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted editing tools and automated workflows - you need to have actually used these, not just be "open to learning."
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; familiarity with After Effects a plus.
  • Experience editing testimonial, interview, or event footage at volume.
  • Working knowledge of direct-response ad structure: hooks, benefit stacking, social proof framing, CTAs.
  • Comfort operating inside structured project management systems (Monday.com or similar).
  • Alignment with ACQ Media's naming conventions, server workflows, and production standards (covered in onboarding - willingness to learn and follow them rigorously is the requirement).

Results
  • Testimonial and workshop footage is turned into publish-ready ads on a consistent weekly cadence.
  • AI pipeline is actively used to hit throughput targets and not treated as a side experiment.
  • All assets are named, organized, and delivered per ACQ Media post-production standards.
  • AP marketing has a growing, usable library of testimonial ads segmented by industry and revenue level.
  • Creative volume for AP paid media increases measurably within the first 60 days.
  • Compliance standards on all testimonial content are met without exception.
Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive, evolving benefits package designed to support your health, family, and wellbeing. Some key offerings:
  • Flexible Unlimited Paid Time Off and Company-wide Holidays
  • Employer sponsored Medical, Dental, & Vision plans
    • $1,950 annual Employer HSA contribution
    • FSA options including dependent care
    • Employee assistance program and mental health resources
  • Employer match program for 401(k), eligible for both Traditional and Roth accounts
  • $1,200 annual wellness reimbursement through JOON that supports health, family care, pet care, fitness, and more!
  • For local or visiting team members, enjoy access to a state of the art gym at our HQ in Las Vegas

* Benefits eligibility applies only to full-time exempt roles.
ACQ Core Values:
Our core values are the heart and soul of this incredible company. The right person for this role will appreciate each of these values, personally subscribe to them, and understand why each is critical to having a great business.
Competitive Greatness
Be at your best when your best is needed. Enjoyment of a hard challenge. Those who have the drive to constantly improve, the superior intellect and long term commitment to see incremental improvements become compounding returns.
Sincere Candor
Have the self awareness to accurately perceive and communicate hard truths that improve others and self, the courage to do so, and the humility to accept them, even when it hurts. Nothing great can be built without feedback: internally or externally.
Unimpeachable Character
Be the type of person with whom people are always proud to associate, personally and professionally. We look for true alignment of thoughts, words, and actions towards a goal worth pursuing.
