Job description

Electrical Manufacturing Project Manager

Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Full-Time Direct Hire
Starting Salary: $120,000/year (higher compensation available based on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Manufacturing Project Manager to oversee custom power distribution equipment projects from initial requirements through final delivery. This role will manage project execution, coordinate cross-functional teams, support customer communication, and ensure engineered-to-order projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

The ideal candidate has experience managing complex manufacturing projects involving electrical equipment, engineering teams, production operations, and supply chain coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects through all phases, including requirements review, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, shipment, and final closeout.
  • Serve as the main project contact for customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate activities between sales, application engineering, design engineering, supply chain, production, quality, and logistics teams.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, milestones, and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate material availability, production capacity, and project requirements to establish achievable schedules.
  • Facilitate project kickoff meetings and track follow-up actions.
  • Manage customer-driven changes, engineering revisions, and impacts to scope or schedule.
  • Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT), documentation requirements, and shipment preparation.
  • Identify potential project risks and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Maintain project status reports, schedule updates, and delivery performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience within manufacturing, electrical equipment, or electromechanical industries.
  • Experience managing engineered-to-order (ETO) or custom manufacturing projects.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, order management, and long-lead material planning.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Experience working with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and project management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with power distribution equipment, including:
    • Switchgear
    • Power Distribution Centers (PDCs)
    • Remote Power Panels (RPPs)
    • Static Transfer Switches (STS)
    • UPS systems
  • PMP certification or active pursuit of certification.
  • Knowledge of electrical industry standards including UL, NEC, and ANSI.
  • Experience coordinating factory acceptance testing (FAT) and customer witness testing.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
