Job description

At Ellis Porter, our goal is to improve the immigration experience for employers and individuals so they can thrive in a smaller world. To do this, we've built a team of dedicated immigration professionals (we call ourselves Porters) who believe passionately in the economic and cultural benefits that immigration provides to Americaand who excel at providing our clients with refreshingly clear guidanceuniquely creative strategies, and remarkably responsive serviceall with genuine empathy and a personal touch.

Immigration law is very complex and full of constant challenges, but the Ellis Porter team loves what we do, and who we do it with, and we find great satisfaction in knowing that our work positively and intimately impacts our clients’ lives and companies.

Our Culture:

We're also immensely proud of (and protective of) our culture at Ellis Porter. It's not what you would expect from a typical law firm, because we're not a typical law firm. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We don't tolerate drama, and jerks are not allowed. And we’ve built a wonderfully diverse team of Porters who reflect the diversity of the clients we serve.

As our team continues to grow, we’ve remained committed to cultivating an inspiring, authentic, comfortable, and flexible work environment where you are respected, encouraged to bring your whole self to work, and challenged to continue your professional growth in the legal immigration field.

The Position:

At Ellis Porter, our work changes lives. Every approved case represents a person or family building a future in the U.S., and how we communicate that work matters. As the Senior Brand and Content Marketing Manager, you will play a foundational role in shaping how Ellis Porter shows up to prospective clients, partners, and the broader market. We’re building a small, modern, AI-powered marketing team, and this is one of its two founding hires.

In this role, you will lead Ellis Porter’s brand and content marketing function through defining our voice, strengthening our market presence, and building a scalable content engine that supports trust, visibility, and inquiry growth across channels. You will work closely with firm leadership and cross-functional partners to create the strategy, systems, and standards that guide how Ellis Porter communicates its value, expertise, and mission.

This position is ideal for a hands-on, builder-minded marketer who is passionate about owning and developing a broad range of brand and content capabilities, including messaging, website content, editorial strategy, social media, reputation management, and creative direction. You will help define what modern brand marketing looks like at Ellis Porter while building the content and brand foundation that complements and strengthens our growth marketing efforts.

This position can be fully remote from any U.S. location, or based in either our Troy, MI or Ann Arbor, MI office as an in-person or hybrid role. Please note - although this role can be remote, all work must be performed within the United States.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the brand voice. Decide how Ellis Porter sounds and looks, while keeping that voice and visual standard consistent across our website, campaigns, social media, thought leadership, and other client-facing touchpoints. Lead the brand and content strategy to strengthen awareness, build trust, and support marketing-generated inquiries.
  • Own the website. Our main site is Ellis Porter’s front door and content home. Own how it reads and feels by leading messaging, page copy, content structure, and editorial priorities, and keep it clear, current, and on‑brand as it grows and evolves.
  • Run the content engine. Build and manage a scalable content program that earns trust and brings in inquiries, spanning explainers, educational content, thought leadership, video, webinars, social content, and other authority‑building assets that improve visibility and credibility.
  • Own social and community. Set the voice and lead day‑to‑day posting, engagement, and optimization across our channels, starting with LinkedIn, using AI tools to increase speed and execution capacity while keeping quality and brand standards high.
  • Own authority and reputation. Turn attorney expertise, client outcomes, and reviews into visible proof points, and oversee how Ellis Porter shows up across reviews, directories, profiles, and key industry events to strengthen our authority and reputation in the market.
  • Direct the creative. Produce and adapt content, creative, and campaigns, using AI tools and external design/video partners as needed, while monitoring performance and using insights to refine messaging and improve engagement.
  • Partner and coordinate. Work closely with attorneys, leadership, and internal stakeholders to align content and brand initiatives with Ellis Porter priorities and manage external vendors when needed while maintaining in‑house ownership of brand strategy, editorial quality, and outcomes.
  • Measure and refine. Monitor content, brand, and channel performance, and use insights to refine messaging, improve engagement, and strengthen marketing’s contribution to firm growth.

What Skills and Experience You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in brand, content, or integrated marketing, with meaningful ownership of brand voice, messaging, and content strategy.
  • Proven experience building and managing multi-channel content programs (website, editorial, social, thought leadership, and reputation-building initiatives).
  • Strong understanding of how content drives brand positioning, organic visibility, engagement, and demand generation, with the ability to tie efforts to business outcomes.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, able to make complex, high-stakes subject matter clear, credible, and accessible for diverse audiences.
  • Genuinely AI-native, using modern AI tools to improve speed, quality, content development, and execution capacity.
  • Experience across multiple marketing channels, with depth in at least two areas such as content strategy, brand messaging, social media, thought leadership, SEO/AEO-informed content, or reputation management.
  • Strong creative judgment and collaboration skills, including directing external creative partners, working cross-functionally, managing priorities, and building structure in a role with broad scope and high ownership.
  • High level of curiosity, resourcefulness, and accountability, with a willingness to test ideas, learn quickly, and build from the ground up.
  • Comfort across both B2C and B2B audiences preferred.

What We'll Provide to You:

  • An opportunity to do challenging and highly rewarding work at a fast-growing firm with an inspiring mission.
  • An opportunity to join intelligent, creative, and dedicated immigration professionals who value respectful, collaborative working relationships.
  • Inclusive firm culture celebrating diverse perspectives, backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
  • People-centered workplace policies and flexible work schedules, including remote work opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation, health/dental/vision/life insurance benefits, a 401(k)-retirement savings plan with employer-matching, and a generous paid-time-off policy.
  • Casual attire and the opportunity to enjoy complimentary international cuisine in the office.

Does this position, and our culture, seem like a good fit for you? If so, we would love to speak with you about joining the Ellis Porter team!
