Integrated Design and Advisory (IDA) is Michael Baker International's national architecture and engineering business vertical, integrating architecture, engineering, federal planning, and strategic advisory services in support of complex buildings and critical infrastructure programs. DESCRIPTION

Join Michael Baker International as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer and take the lead in shaping fire protection strategies across Texas. In this highly visible role, you'll serve as a clientfacing technical leader-driving project delivery, strengthening key relationships, and guiding solutions that protect people, assets, and missioncritical operations. You'll have the full support of Michael Baker's nationwide Fire Protection Engineering team while maintaining the autonomy to grow and lead our presence in the region.

You'll engage with fire protection projects from concept through commissioning-developing proposals, leading system designs, conducting site evaluations, and overseeing testing and acceptance. Your work will span a diverse portfolio of systems including fire sprinklers, pumps, highexpansion foam, clean agents, fire alarm, and mass notification. Projects serve a broad range of industries such as the Department of Defense, data centers, industrial and manufacturing facilities, and commercial clients-allowing you to apply your expertise to complex and highly technical environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Business development and client management
  • Be responsible for proposal preparation, project budgets and project work schedules
  • Perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and fire pump design
  • Analyze life safety requirements for buildings, including building code compliance, occupant loadcalculations and egress analysis
  • Perform on-site system evaluations and perform final system testing
  • Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines

Business Development:

  • Grow revenue from existing client base through ensuring high quality work products and regular client interactions.
  • Attend local industry events to create and maintain networking connections.
  • Identify and win new work from new and existing clients.

Client Management:

  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical expertise.
  • Present project proposals and updates to clients.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective project delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer in Fire Protection
  • 8+ years professional experience
  • BS or MS in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
  • Experience in fire protection system design including: fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, clean agentsystems, high expansion foam systems, fire alarm and mass notification systems
  • Experience in computer generated hydraulic design
  • Knowledge and experience of building and design codes, specifically IBC, NFPA 101, NFPA 13 and NFPA72
  • US Citizen Required

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $97,593 to $153,732. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
