Remote Artist information

What is a remote artist?

Remote Artists are creative professionals who produce visual art, illustrations, or graphic designs while working from a location outside of a traditional office or studio, typically from home. They collaborate with clients or companies using digital tools and communication platforms to complete projects. Remote Artists can work in various fields, such as gaming, advertising, publishing, and entertainment, offering flexibility and access to a global job market.

What does a remote artist do?

Remote artist positions usually refer to graphic designers and animators. They work for technology companies, production studios, marketing firms, and other industries that need visual effects. Remote artists develop images and designs in a way that is unique to them, using a personal creative process to complete their project. Instead of traveling to the office daily, remote artists work from home or another location outside of the office with internet connectivity. Most remote artists utilize computer graphic applications to draw and design different projects. Specific job duties vary, depending on the company and industry. But some common projects that remote artists work on include advertising campaigns, animation or other eye-catching images on websites, and movie posters.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote artist?

To thrive as a Remote Artist, you need strong artistic ability, proficiency in design principles, and a solid portfolio showcasing your work, often backed by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with digital art tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, or 3D modeling software is typically required. Excellent time management, self-motivation, and clear communication skills help remote artists collaborate effectively with clients and teams. These skills and qualities are crucial for delivering high-quality creative work, meeting deadlines, and succeeding in a remote, often independent environment.

How do remote artists typically collaborate with teams and clients despite working from different locations?

Remote Artists often use digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and project management platforms like Trello or Asana to stay connected with their teams and clients. Regular virtual meetings, clear documentation, and shared digital workspaces help facilitate feedback and ensure alignment on creative projects. Successfully navigating time zone differences and maintaining proactive communication are common challenges, but these are often addressed through flexible scheduling and setting clear expectations. This collaborative environment allows Remote Artists to contribute creatively while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Artist based in Netherlands.

This is an opportunity to shape the visual identity and player experience of new and live mobile puzzle games.
You will own the art pipeline from early concepts through final release, working across the product rather than focusing on a single asset type.
The role combines strong 2D artistry, UI/UX design, animation, and game development collaboration.
You'll work closely with designers, developers, and producers to turn creative ideas into polished, player-focused experiences.
Your work will span game interfaces, icons, in-game visuals, store assets, and advertising creatives.
You'll have room to experiment, contribute ideas, and help establish a consistent and engaging visual language across products.
The ideal candidate is an independent, systematic, and proactive artist who is passionate about games and motivated by creative problem-solving.

Accountabilities
  • Own the full art pipeline from initial concepts and exploration through production and release.
  • Develop, refine, and iterate on visual assets for new and live mobile puzzle games.
  • Create a broad range of graphical assets, including icons, UI elements, interfaces, store screenshots, and in-game visuals.
  • Build and animate UI elements in Unity in collaboration with developers, and refine effects and animations after implementation.
  • Maintain a consistent visual style and high level of quality across the entire product.
  • Apply UI/UX principles to create interfaces that support both player experience and product objectives.
  • Contribute visual concepts and assets for advertising and user acquisition campaigns.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, developers, producers, and other creative stakeholders to ensure visuals remain aligned with gameplay and business goals.
  • Present and communicate design decisions clearly while remaining open to feedback and experimentation.
Requirements
  • Strong 2D art skills covering concept development, asset creation, and animation.
  • Proven experience designing game interfaces and applying UI/UX principles in games or consumer applications.
  • Confident proficiency with Figma and experience creating structured, user-focused interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with Photoshop required; After Effects experience is a plus.
  • Good understanding of composition, colour theory, visual hierarchy, and visual consistency.
  • Comfortable working with Unity or motivated to quickly develop proficiency with the engine.
  • Ability to maintain a coherent art direction and visual style across an entire product.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with designers, developers, and producers in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Clear communication skills and the confidence to explain and stand behind creative decisions.
  • Background in art, game development, or a related discipline, supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
  • 3D experience is a valuable advantage.
  • Professional English communication skills sufficient for meetings, documentation, and day-to-day collaboration.
Benefits
  • 26 days of paid holiday in addition to applicable national and bank holidays.
  • Opportunity to work remotely for up to 20 days per year from anywhere in the world.
  • Private medical coverage for you and your family.
  • Daily free lunch through Pyszne.pl.
  • Multisport Plus Card providing access to sports facilities across Warsaw.
  • Employee Assistance Program offering confidential personal support.
  • Family-forming and fertility support, subject to applicable policy.
  • Regular company events, team activities, and recognition programs.
  • Continuous professional development and opportunities to grow your career.
  • Access to English and Polish language classes.
  • Office playroom and collaborative workplace amenities.
  • Opportunity to contribute to globally played mobile games within a creative and inclusive studio environment.
