As a leader of a Java development team, you will:

  • Develop people through coaching, mentoring and management

  • Lead projects / initiatives front-to-back from planning, designing, architecting to implementation and go-live.

  • Lead the design, development and support of enterprise scale, global applications

  • Act as a thought leader in the technical space

  • Work closely with business and technology stakeholders

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

  • 8+ years professional work experience in development

  • At least 1 year in a leadership position (techlead or teamlead)

  • Strong knowledge of Java (enough to mentor / coach other developers)

  • Good knowledge of Unix/Linux

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with microservices architecture

  • Experience with Spring/Spring Boot

  • Experience developing client-server, distributed, real-time, performance-critical, highly available, or large-scale systems

  • Hands on experience with modern distributed technologies such as messaging brokers (e.g. MQ, Kafka) and distributed caching solutions (e.g. Redis).

  • Experience building real time applications using multithreading

  • Experience working with Git

  • Experience with IntelliJ or Eclipse IDE

  • Experience with Scala/functional programming

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps

  • Experience with Fullstack Development

  • Experience with Elasticsearch

  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (ex. Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, Snowflake, Mongo)

  • Knowledge of fintech protocols (e.g., FIX, Swift protocol)
