Summary
Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Hydroelectric Mechanic. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.

Duties
Help
  • Performs work involved in maintaining, testing, and repairing all equipment in a hydroelectric powerplant and pumping stations.
  • Overhauls, repairs, evaluates, and performance tests turbines, generators, motors, air compressors, pumps, pressure regulators, eductors, valves, pipes, penstocks, intakes, spillways, diversion dam, and wasteway gates including appurtenant mechanical controls.
  • Operates the powerplant Domestic Water Treatment Facility to include operation, testing of domestic drinking water, and obtaining grab samples for testing.
  • Monitors lab sensitive equipment and calibration of the equipment as well as the repair of mechanical controls, dismantling, reconstructing and fabricating parts as needed for the daily operation of the facility.
  • Operates heavy equipment to include mobile cranes, backhoes, boom trucks, dump trucks, tractors, and forklifts.
  • Performs welding tasks using gas welding equipment or electric welding equipment.
  • Operates overhead, mobile, gantry and jib cranes and performs rigging incidental to lifting, moving, dismantling, assembling, overhauling, and/or repairing hydroelectric powerplant and pumping plant machinery and related equipment.
  • Uses technical drawings, specifications, and records to fill out required forms such as job hazard analysis, work plants, and special permits.
  • Plans work sequences, selecting tools, and materials needed to complete assignments.

This position requires a fully skilled Plant Mechanic or Machinist
with skill in at least two of the following trades: Welder, Pipefitter/Plumber, Millwright, Crane Operator/Rigger. If your resume does not clearly reflect this experience, your application will be marked as ineligible.

Condition of Employment For Probationary Period: As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1 year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.
