Position Overview

St Paul Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Therapists to fill full-time, remote positions within our outpatient psychiatric practice. As a dedicated therapist in our team, you will provide critical support and interventions for individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges.

Work Environment

This role will primarily be conducted in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that therapy schedules align with patient needs. Our outpatient office facilitates a team-oriented culture where licensed therapists work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. The standard work schedule is from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to adapt to appointments and patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate clients’ conditions and personal circumstances, leading to comprehensive and tailored treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness strategies to deliver effective care to individuals, couples, and families.
  • Organize and facilitate psychoeducational groups and support sessions, fostering community and shared learning among clients dealing with common mental health issues.
  • Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring cohesive treatment strategies and comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques during mental health emergencies, offering immediate support and stabilization for patients.
  • Engage in educational discussions with clients about their mental health conditions, treatment processes, and available resources in the community.
  • Uphold a high standard of documentation practices by maintaining accurate, confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical regulations.
  • Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development initiatives to continually enhance clinical skills.
  • Stay informed about recent studies and treatment advancements in the mental health field to integrate the latest findings into practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Current and valid licensure in the state as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting mental health assessments and creating effective treatment plans tailored to individuals’ specific needs.
  • A solid foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches and a commitment to ongoing education and professional growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a capability to build trusting relationships with clients.
  • Strong ethical judgement and professionalism in maintaining client confidentiality and boundaries.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technology for documentation and communication.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience providing therapy in outpatient settings is highly desirable.
