We are looking for a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with 1+ years of experience to join a collaborative, remote-first firm that handles cases from inception through appeal. Whether you're an experienced comp attorney or a civil litigator looking to transition into a new area of law, McNamara & Drass offers a comprehensive training program and a bonus-heavy compensation structure that rewards hard work.

What will you be doing?

  • Handling workers' compensation defense cases from initial setup through appeal
  • Valuing cases early and often, giving clients the option to settle or continue litigation
  • Collaborating with partners and fellow associates on case strategy
  • Building and maintaining relationships with adjusters and clients
  • Meeting a monthly billable target of 220 hours with opportunity to earn significant bonuses above that

Key Requirements

  • Active California Bar license (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of legal experience (civil litigation or workers' comp)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client-facing ability — this is a customer service business
