Job description

This PathConnexx opportunity is a chance to gain hands-on experience with the IDEXX BioAnalytics team. It's offered to a resident interested in laboratory animal diagnostic pathology and/or discovery/toxicologic pathology.
What is PathConnexx? A unique learning experience for a veterinary pathology resident currently enrolled in a residency program and beginning their final year in the fall of 2026.
Residents will gain real-world experience working virtually alongside our pathologists, who provide pathology diagnostics and consultation services to lab animal veterinarians or those in pharmaceutical/discovery activities. During your externship, you will be integrated into our global professional pathology team with exposure to a wide range of interesting pathology cases, specifically selected for you based on your interests and goals for your program
What to expect:
  • Externship will take place in early 2027, at a mutually agreeable time
  • You'll participate in the digital evaluation of specimens from laboratory animals, related consultations, and other activities
  • You'll interact virtually with several IDEXX Pathologists within our IDEXX BioAnalytics Team
  • You'll attend and participate in pathology-related meetings as available (i.e. rounds)

What you'll need:
  • DVM or equivalent
  • 18+ years of age and two completed years of a pathology residency with a track record of academic success and potential
  • Familiarity with current topics and issues in diagnostic veterinary medicine
  • Successful completion of Phase I of the ACVP board exam highly desirable
