Job description

New Position! UPMC is looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer to continue to build and expand the team to work towards multi-year multiple modernization projects. The expectation is to work with other software engineers and Architects on multiple technology stacks (IBMi and .Net/Cloud), other roles (BA, Scrum Master, PM, QA) within and across the IT departments as well as with Business Stakeholders in the agile/DevOps framework.

An ideal .Net/Azure Cloud candidate should be a self-starter, have an understanding of the technologies outlined below, and be willing/capable of learning/sharing industry best practices and addressing issues across multiple teams/technologies to build future-centric business capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Application Development Cycle - Show fundamental knowledge of the application development cycle.

Security - Show fundamental knowledge and the ability to learn secure coding processes and writing, accessing, andfollowing established security protocols.

Troubleshooting - Show the ability to resolve basic issues and offer input on issue resolution.

Quality - Follow established coding standards. Submit code for review and deliver quality, unit test code.

Design - Follow established design patterns and have an awareness of user experience standards. Responsible forindividual components of design.

Integration - Responsible for less complex components of integration within a module.

Documentation - Create basic technical documentation.

Typically has 2+ years of related work experience

Experience with complex development environments, taking abstract concepts and ideas, and formulating a detailed software deliverable

Ability to work independently and in a team-basedenvironment

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:

Proven Experience in .NET, C#, and Microsoft server-side technologies

Experience in Azure Cloud technologies like Azure Functions, Service Bus, Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, etc.,

In-depth Experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, bootstrap

Capable of designing and consuming REST APIs

Experience with source control systems such as GitHub, Azure DevOps

Experience working in Safe Agile/Scrum

Experience creating automated unit tests

Deep understanding of object-oriented concepts, design patterns, clean coding, and code review practices

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Azure Cloud and non-RDBMS experience

Prior Healthcare domain experience
