Job description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team on a contract-to-permanent basis. While this position is fully remote, candidates should be based in the Fox Valley area. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, performing in-depth financial analysis, and supporting month-end close activities. Success in this position requires advanced Excel skills, strong financial systems experience, and the ability to transform complex financial data into meaningful insights that support business planning and decision-making. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, providing analytical support and recommendations that help drive informed business decisions while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
Responsibilities: • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports by organizing and analyzing data in Excel and enterprise financial systems. • Work closely with business partners and internal teams to collect, validate, and interpret information needed for accurate reporting. • Evaluate financial results to uncover trends, explain variances, and highlight areas that may benefit from corrective action or improved performance. • Support month-end close by assisting with reconciliations, journal entry review, and the preparation of financial reporting deliverables. • Build and refine reporting tools, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency, consistency, and data quality. • Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations that help leadership make informed business decisions. • Use advanced Excel capabilities, including formulas and VBA, to automate reporting tasks and strengthen analysis. • Perform data mining and financial modeling to answer business questions and support planning initiatives• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, and month-end close support.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis functions, and VBA.
• Hands-on experience with SAP or comparable financial reporting systems.
• Strong capability in financial modeling, variance analysis, and ad hoc reporting.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with large or complex data sets.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present findings and collaborate across multiple departments.
• Ability to manage priorities independently in a fast-moving business environment.
