BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated 48 States License Claims Adjuster for an opportunity in Cleveland, OH


Position Title: Claims Examiner - Auto

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 3 months of contract with possibility of extension

Pay Rate: $40/hr. on W2

Job Description:

The role is responsible for investigating claims, determining liability, evaluating damages, managing litigation, and ensuring claims are properly documented and resolved in accordance with applicable policies, laws, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle commercial auto bodily injury claims, including mid- to high-severity losses.
  • Investigate claims, review coverage, determine liability, and evaluate damages.
  • Manage litigated bodily injury claims throughout the litigation process.
  • Handle claims with exposure of up to $1 million.
  • Develop and maintain action plans to meet state-required contact and claim handling deadlines.
  • Ensure claim files are accurately documented and coded.
  • Communicate claim status and actions with insureds, clients, agents, and brokers as appropriate.
  • Present and discuss claims with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiate claims and work toward timely and appropriate resolution.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial auto policies, coverage, applicable laws, and claims principles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and support quality programs.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial auto claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong commercial auto bodily injury claims experience.
  • Commercial auto litigation experience is required.
  • Experience handling mid- to high-level bodily injury claims.
  • Experience handling high-severity/high-value claims, preferably losses exceeding $1 million.
  • Commercial trucking claims experience preferred.
  • TPA experience is a plus.
  • Must be licensed to handle claims in the contiguous 48 states.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial auto policies, coverage, principles, and applicable laws.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and Medicare compliance for claim evaluation.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will have:

  • Commercial Auto Bodily Injury claims experience
  • Commercial Trucking claims experience
  • Litigation handling experience specifically involving BI claims
  • High-severity/high-value claim handling
  • Claims exposure up to $1M
  • Liability investigation and coverage analysis
  • Damages evaluation
  • Negotiation and settlement experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience presenting claims to internal and external stakeholders
  • TPA experience, preferably

 

Education & Licensing

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Professional certification related to the line of business preferred.

Required to obtain and maintain applicable state adjusting licenses
