Job description

About the Role
Gist, a ProRata brand, is redefining advertising for the AI era, building AI-powered, contextual ad experiences across AI search, chat interfaces, and premium digital media environments. We partner with leading brands and agencies to activate high-intent moments across the evolving landscape of consumer discovery and decision-making.
We're looking for an Account Executive with a deep foundation in digital media and advertising sales who is energized by AI innovation and thrives in high-growth environments. This role is built for a true hunter, someone who understands how media is planned, bought, and measured, and can evangelize a new category while driving revenue through full-funnel, media-driven solutions.
You'll own the entire sales motion from prospecting to close, while helping define how brands and agencies engage with GenAI-powered media. If you've sold into brand and agency ecosystems and are excited about shaping the future of media, this is your seat.
What You'll Do
  • Own outbound prospecting, pitching, and closing across brands, agencies, and media buyers
  • Drive the full sales cycle: pipeline generation, media-led consultative selling, deal structuring, and close
  • Evangelize the GenAI media category, translating complex innovation into clear, compelling value for marketers, planners, and buyers
  • Represent Gist in high-impact settings including client meetings, industry events, and media-focused thought leadership opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Operations to ensure campaign success, performance delivery, renewals, and expansion
  • Bring market intelligence from agencies, trading desks, and brand teams back to inform product roadmap and go-to-market strategy
  • Consistently exceed revenue targets while building scalable, repeatable growth within media-driven sales cycles

What You Bring
  • 3-7 years of experience in digital media, advertising, AdTech, or performance media sales with a track record of exceeding quota
  • Strong understanding of the media ecosystem (planning, buying, measurement, and optimization), including direct and programmatic channels
  • Established network across agency partners, trading desks, and/or brand media teams
  • Proven success selling media, data, or audience-based solutions (not just SaaS or pure software products)
  • Experience navigating agency-driven sales cycles and multi-stakeholder media deals
  • A startup mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and building from zero to one
  • Ability to educate and build trust around new or non-traditional media offerings
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; strong media-centric consultative selling approach
  • Genuine curiosity and passion for AI, media innovation, and performance marketing

Work Environment
  • This is a remote/hybrid role depending on geography (open to Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, New York City, NY, or TX). Employees are expected to have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup. Travel required (~25%).

Compensation
  • The compensation for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience. It has a cash compensation of $250,000 -300,000 OTE (50/50 base variable) + equity.
  • Uncapped commission structure

What We Offer
  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of AI technology
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • Chance to make a significant impact on the company's success

Equal Employment Opportunity
  • ProRata is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All employment decisions are made based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.

California Specific Notices
  • At-Will Employment: Employment at ProrataAI is at-will. This means that either the employee or the employer may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause or prior notice.
  • Salary Disclosure: In compliance with California law, salary information is provided to ensure transparency and fairness.
