What is remote AI governance?

Remote AI Governance refers to the frameworks, policies, and processes used to oversee and ensure the responsible development, deployment, and monitoring of artificial intelligence systems from a remote or distributed setting. Professionals in this field work to guarantee that AI technologies adhere to ethical, legal, and organizational standards, even when teams are not physically co-located. This role often involves risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and the creation of guidelines to ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI systems.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote AI governance roles, and how can they be addressed?

Remote AI governance professionals often face challenges such as coordinating with cross-functional teams across different time zones, ensuring clear communication on complex ethical standards, and staying updated on evolving regulations. To address these, it's helpful to establish regular check-ins, use collaborative tools for documentation and decision-making, and participate in ongoing training or industry forums. Proactively building relationships with legal, technical, and business stakeholders also helps in aligning governance policies and ensuring responsible AI deployment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote AI governance professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote AI Governance professional, you need a solid understanding of AI ethics, regulatory frameworks, risk management, and data privacy, often supported by degrees in law, computer science, or data governance. Familiarity with tools such as AI auditing platforms, compliance management systems, and certifications like CIPP or ISO/IEC 27001 is highly valuable. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams set top candidates apart. These competencies are crucial to ensure responsible AI deployment, regulatory compliance, and organizational trust in remote work environments.

Howย Youโ€™llย Make an Impact:ย ย ย

The AI Delivery and Support Specialist owns the full lifecycle ofย Ntivaโ€™sย AI solutions for clients, starting with our Claude for Microsoft 365 offering. On the delivery side,ย youโ€™llย scope and run new client engagements from discovery, through secure configuration of Claude in the clientโ€™s Microsoft 365 environment, deployment and creation of skills, and establishment of AI governance, to go-live and handoff. On the support side,ย youโ€™llย keepย liveย client environments healthy, governed, and continuously improving, resolving issues within agreed service levels.ย ย ย

Location and Work Expectations:

  • This is a remote position; however, team members should be willing and able to travel if the need arises, though such travel is expected to be infrequent. Candidates with proximity to one of our Centers of Excellence are preferred (Lombard, IL; McLean, VA; Shreveport, LA; Overland Park, KS).

Whatย Youโ€™llย Be Doing:ย ย ย

  • Deploy and tailor the catalog of pre-built skills (prompts, parameters, and data connections); test andย validateย behavior before go-live.ย
  • Create and customize new skills beyond the pre-built catalog, and configure other Claude/AI solutions, to meet client-specific requirements.ย
  • Establish the clientโ€™s AI governance framework: acceptable-use and data-handling policies, access controls, guardrails, audit logging, and alignment to applicable compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR).ย
  • Train client administrators and end users; create runbooks and quick-start materials.ย
  • Produce as-built/configuration documentation; manage scope, timeline, and stakeholders for each engagement.ย
  • Own intake, triage, and resolution of client support requests; manage service-level agreements (SLAs) andย response/resolution targets, and keep clients informed.ย
  • Apply updates to Claude configuration and skills; track and adapt to Anthropic (Claude/model) and Microsoft 365 platform changes; keep integrations current and healthy.ย
  • Proactivelyย monitorย usage, performance, and errors; run periodic health checks and resolve issues before they affect users.ย
  • Continuously review AI governance adherence, audit logs, and usage-policy compliance; detect and remediate drift from the established framework.ย
  • Gather user feedback; recommend new skills, optimizations, and version upgrades; manage the change pipeline.ย
  • Serve as an ongoing client point of contact; run periodic reviews; produce usage/value and support reporting; surface renewal and expansion opportunities; coordinate escalations with Anthropic and Microsoft support.ย

Youโ€™llย be successful in this role if you have:ย ย

  • Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience (Entra ID, Purview, Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 admin center).ย
  • Working knowledge of Claude or comparable large-language-modelย tooling, including promptย designย and configuring AI skills/agents.ย
  • Solid security and compliance awareness andย secure-configurationย practices.ย
  • Technical configuration skills โ€” APIs, integrations, SSO/identity, andย data-accessย scoping.ย
  • Service-deliveryย and support fundamentals, including SLA and ticket/queue.ย
  • Strong client-facing skills: discovery facilitation, requirements gathering, relationship management, and clear communication and reporting.ย
  • Project/engagement management ability and strong documentation discipline.ย

Bonus points for:ย ย

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, SC-300, or SC-900).ย
