Remote Ai Agent Developer information

What is a remote AI agent developer?

Remote AI Agent Developers are software professionals who design, build, and maintain artificial intelligence agents while working from a remote location. These developers use programming languages, machine learning frameworks, and AI technologies to create systems that can perform tasks autonomously or assist users. Their work may include developing chatbots, virtual assistants, recommendation engines, or other intelligent systems. Working remotely allows them to collaborate with teams and clients worldwide, often using cloud-based tools and platforms.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote AI agent developer?

To thrive as a Remote AI Agent Developer, you need a strong background in computer science, machine learning, and programming languages such as Python, along with experience in developing and deploying AI models. Proficiency with AI frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and familiarity with version control systems is typically required. Exceptional problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and effective remote communication help you collaborate and deliver results in distributed teams. These skills ensure the successful creation, deployment, and maintenance of intelligent agents that meet organizational goals in a remote work environment.

What are some common challenges faced by remote AI agent developers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote AI Agent Developers often encounter challenges such as coordinating across different time zones, ensuring smooth communication with distributed teams, and managing project dependencies asynchronously. To address these, it's important to use collaborative tools (like Slack, GitHub, or Jira), schedule regular check-ins, and document development processes thoroughly. Building strong relationships through proactive communication and adopting agile practices can also help streamline workflows and maintain productivity in a remote setting.

What is the difference between Remote Ai Agent Developer vs Remote Chatbot Developer?

AspectRemote Ai Agent DeveloperRemote Chatbot Developer
Required SkillsAI, machine learning, NLP, programmingChatbot platforms, scripting, UI design
Work EnvironmentAI development teams, tech companiesCustomer service, tech firms, startups
Industry UsageAI-driven virtual assistants, complex AI systemsCustomer support bots, simple conversational interfaces

Remote Ai Agent Developers focus on creating advanced AI-powered virtual assistants using machine learning and NLP, often working on complex AI systems. In contrast, Remote Chatbot Developers typically build conversational interfaces for customer support or marketing, emphasizing scripting and UI design. While both roles involve AI and programming, the scope and complexity differ, with Ai Agent Developers working on more sophisticated AI solutions.

How much do remote AI agent developers make?

Remote AI agent developers typically earn between $80,000 and $150,000 annually, depending on experience, skills in machine learning and programming, and the complexity of projects. Senior roles or those with specialized expertise can earn higher salaries, especially in tech-focused companies or industries.

Job description

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP seeks a Software Engineer to join our team.  The Software Engineer designs, builds, and operates enterprise applications, data pipelines, and AI systems across the Microsoft stack. The role spans full-stack application development, modern data platform engineering, and AI agent delivery — working across C#/.NET, Azure data services, and Azure AI Foundry to produce reliable, governed, production-ready solutions aligned to business and legal operations needs. The candidate may work remotely from any one of our Womble locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications, APIs, and backend services using C#, .NET, Blazor, React, and TypeScript
  • Build and extend solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse
  • Design and build scalable ETL/data pipelines in a medallion architecture using Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, and Dataflow Gen2
  • Develop and maintain dimensionally modeled data warehouses supporting reporting and analytics across legal, finance, and operational functions
  • Integrate data from legacy SQL Server environments (SSRS, SSAS) and third-party systems using Azure Data Factory and Boomi
  • Architect and build AI agents and RAG pipelines using Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Agent Framework, and Copilot Studio — including document ingestion, vectorization, grounding, and prompt engineering
  • Integrate AI capabilities into user workflows via Microsoft Copilot, Teams, and Office add-ins; define agent invocation patterns, context management, and enterprise governance models
  • Implement observability, telemetry, and exception reporting across applications, data pipelines, and AI systems
  • Document data models, lineage, transformation logic, ETL workflows, and AI architecture decisions to ensure traceability and maintainability
  • Participate in sprint planning, architectural discussions, code reviews, and the firm's ongoing platform modernization strategy
  • Use Git and Azure DevOps for version control, release management, and collaboration

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong proficiency in C# and .NET for application and backend service development
Hands-on experience with Blazor, React, and TypeScript for modern web development
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience with Microsoft technologies; SQL Server and T-SQL expertise required
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Delta Lake, and Dataflow Gen2 Proficiency with ETL tools including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Boomi for third-party integration
  • Proven experience building or operating AI-enabled systems in production, including RAG pipelines and agent frameworks
  • Practical understanding of ML and generative AI concepts, including model limitations, responsible AI principles, and governance
  • Familiarity with medallion architecture, dimensional modeling, and enterprise data warehouse design
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in a legal context
  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms including Microsoft Power Platform
Proficiency with Git and Azure DevOps
  • Ability to explain technical decisions, AI behavior, and data architecture to non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
