What are Remote Ahrefs jobs?

Remote Ahrefs jobs are positions offered by Ahrefs, a well-known SEO software company, that allow employees to work from anywhere rather than from a physical office. These roles can include software engineering, marketing, customer support, and other functions that contribute to the company’s products and services. Working remotely at Ahrefs typically offers flexibility in schedule and location, while still being part of a collaborative, innovative team. Applicants usually need strong self-management skills, and reliable internet access, and must be able to work effectively with colleagues across different time zones.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote SEO Specialist using Ahrefs, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote SEO Specialist using Ahrefs, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of SEO principles, and experience with keyword research and site audits, often supported by relevant certifications or coursework. Familiarity with Ahrefs and other SEO tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Moz is typically required to analyze data and implement strategies effectively. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving abilities help you stand out in a remote environment where collaboration and initiative are crucial. These skills ensure you can independently drive SEO performance, interpret data accurately, and contribute to business growth from a remote setting.

How does working remotely as an Ahrefs specialist impact daily communication and collaboration with the team?

As a remote Ahrefs specialist, clear and proactive communication is essential since you'll likely work with marketing, SEO, and content teams spread across different locations. Most collaboration happens through project management tools, video calls, and chat platforms, so staying organized and responsive is crucial. You'll regularly provide insights, share reports, and coordinate on campaigns, making it important to document your findings and updates thoroughly. This remote setup offers flexibility, but also requires you to be self-motivated and disciplined to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a Growth Marketing Specialist to join a close-knit team that spans performance marketing, brand, content, and inside sales. Strategy here is built collaboratively — you won’t be handed a blank slate and told to figure it out. You’ll execute and support programs where the team collaboratively sets the direction, meaning you get more context, more backup, and less guesswork. You’ll report to our Director of Performance Marketing and work day-to-day with our Brand Strategy Director, Content Strategy and Messaging Manager, and Inside Sales Manager. The work touches many disciplines, which makes it interesting, but you'll always have a teammate to partner with.
What You’ll Be Working On

Paid Media
• Supporting campaign execution in Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads based on strategy set with the performance and brand teams
• Building audience segments and assisting with targeting refinements
• Tracking performance and reporting findings back to the team

ABM and BDR Support
• Building account lists and top-of-funnel audiences for our inside sales team
• Collaborating with the Inside Sales Manager on account-based campaigns for specific verticals
• Running LinkedIn lead gen campaigns with support from the broader marketing team

SEO
• Keyword research and competitive analysis using Ahrefs and ZoomInfo intent data
• Link building outreach in coordination with our content team
• Supporting our website rebuild on HubSpot Content Hub — working with the content team to map pages to search intent

Tools We Use

Ahrefs · Google Ads · LinkedIn Ads · HubSpot · ZoomInfo SalesOS
The marketing team here is collaborative by design, not by accident. Strategy gets shaped together across performance, brand, content, and inside sales — this isn’t a role where you’re expected to walk in and build something from scratch on your own. You’ll have a direct line to the Director of Performance Marketing, regular touchpoints with brand and content, and a close working relationship with inside sales. The work is varied, the team is accessible, and there’s room to grow into more responsibility over time.

Qualifications
  • 2 to 4+ years of B2B marketing experience with ownership of both paid media and ABM programs
  • 2 years experience with Search Engine Optimization; including keyword scopes, metadata development, schema micro data content briefs, data analysis, competitive SERP analysis, and related performance analytics.
  • AI-forward engineering approach — comfortable leveraging automation, AI agents to scale, smart bidding, and AI-powered tools to improve performance and reporting.
  • Experience building and analyzing Ahrefs, SEM Rush Screaming Frog, Search Control, Bing Webmaster Tools, and Google Analytics data
  • Proven track record managing paid search (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads) and paid social (LinkedIn) with measurable pipeline impact; ABM platform experience (ZoomInfo, 6sense, Demandbase, or AdRoll) strongly preferred
  • HubSpot experience; comfort with multi-touch attribution, UTM frameworks, and CRM-synced audience building
  • Deep understanding of long B2B sales cycles, complex buying committees, and enterprise deal structures
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to move fluidly between C-suite strategy and in-platform campaign optimization
  • Highly collaborative, sales-aligned mindset with strong cross-functional communication skills; experience supporting enterprise or strategic sales teams

This role is not about blasting ads or chasing traffic metrics. It's about precision, relevance, and deal impact — knowing which accounts matter, reaching them with the right message at the right moment, and moving them through a complex buying journey faster.
