• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy sessions, focusing on geriatric psychiatric conditions.
• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and a range of other healthcare professionals to ensure a well-rounded and holistic care approach.
• Offer crisis intervention and timely support during mental health emergencies affecting elderly patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources to promote awareness and accessibility.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation consistent with legal and ethical standards for mental health practice.
• Actively participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities to remain current with therapeutic advancements.
• Research and implement best practices in geriatric psychiatry to elevate the standard of care provided to our patients.

This position focuses primarily on serving the geriatric population, including elderly individuals grappling with a range of mental health disorders. You will play a vital role in addressing conditions such as late-life depression, anxiety disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, and other dementia-related disorders. Your interventions will directly impact not only the patients but also their families, helping them navigate the complexities of aging and cognitive decline.

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred, particularly in geriatric mental health.
• A comprehensive understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and recognized evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Relevant experience in delivering therapeutic interventions to elderly patients and their families.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a patient-centered and empathetic approach in all interactions.
• Ability to establish trust and rapport with elderly clients and their families through compassionate care practices.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring smooth administrative processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to integrated care models.

• Experience using telehealth platforms to deliver therapy services effectively in remote settings.
• Familiarity with community resources, programs, and support networks available for elderly populations.
• Understanding of the regulatory landscape governing mental health practices, particularly regarding elderly patients.
