Position Overview
Woolpert is hiring an Aerial Sensor Operator to join our dynamic Aerial Acquisitions team based out of our Dayton office. This position reports to the Geospatial Team Leader and is responsible for sensor operation and reporting for airborne mapping missions.
MUST be willing to travel on a rotating travel schedule of 21 days on and 14 days off with both domestic and international travel required.
We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.
What You Will Do:
  • Participate in ground and flight operations efforts as needed, including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, communications, and safety.
  • Ensure proper collection of data for accuracy and quality.
  • Understand the collection of tactical and wide area mapping.
  • Comply with all governing regulations and work in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Download, edit, and troubleshoot collected sensor data while in the field. Set up and operate ground GPS base stations and flight planning.

What You Will Bring:
  • High School Diploma and/or G.E.D. or two (2) years of related experience, degree in GIS, geography, or related discipline preferred.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, moderate to high. Domestically and possibly internationally.
  • Preferred knowledge of ESRI software, ArcGIS, Leica FlightPro, TerraSolid and or TerraSolid.
  • Preferred experience operating Leica Terrain Mapper, ADS 100, and DMC.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Possess above average Microsoft Office suite skills. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.
  • Quickly adapt and respond to industry changes as well as internal initiatives.
  • Must have above average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
