Sea View Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our compassionate team. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental health needs, utilizing diagnostic tools and interviews to gather information about their psychological, social, and emotional challenges.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clinical best practices, incorporating therapeutic techniques tailored to the unique needs of each client.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing clients with coping strategies and skills to manage their conditions effectively.
  • Monitor and document clients’ progress in treatment, adjusting approaches as necessary to ensure the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to provide integrated care and referrals when appropriate.
  • Participate in regular supervision and consultation meetings to enhance clinical skills and ensure adherence to ethical standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse clientele experiencing a variety of mental health disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, substance abuse issues, and eating disorders. Our commitment to cultural competence ensures that all clients receive respectful and individualized care, informed by their unique backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications
  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LMFT, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent in the state of Oregon.
  • At least four years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in a community mental health setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate and confidential client documentation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling the formation of strong therapeutic alliances with clients.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and maintaining professional boundaries in all client interactions.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced by underserved populations and familiarity with culturally responsive therapy techniques.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and effectively.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this licensed mental health counselor role ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
