Position Overview

Sea View Counseling Center is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. In this essential role, you will engage with clients via a remote setting, conducting thorough assessments of their mental health status, and developing personalized treatment plans aimed at fostering their emotional well-being. This position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Work Environment

This position is 100% remote, allowing for flexibility in your work-life balance while still being a part of a collaborative outpatient practice. You will be part of a dynamic team of mental health professionals, dedicated to offering innovative and evidence-based therapeutic practices. Our practice leverages modern technology and electronic health record (EHR) systems to enhance patient care and streamline workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed initial assessments of clients’ mental health conditions to develop appropriate treatment plans based on individual needs.
• Engage in regular therapy sessions with clients, which may include individual counseling, group therapy, and crisis intervention.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches and tools to facilitate dialogue and equip clients with the skills needed to manage their mental health challenges.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and interactions within our electronic health record system to ensure continuity of care.
• Establish collaborative relationships with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Provide guidance and resources for clients dealing with various issues, such as substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Sea View Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse clientele that encompasses a wide range of mental health issues. This includes adolescents and adults struggling with emotional and psychological disorders, individuals facing life transitions, and those needing support with substance use recovery. Our commitment to cultural competence ensures that you will be prepared to address the unique context and challenges each client faces.

Qualifications

• Possession of a master’s or doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure in California as either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience in the mental health field, demonstrating a strong foundation in clinical practices.
• Proficient understanding of mental health disorders, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
• Ability to provide therapy in both individual and group settings, ensuring inclusivity for all clients.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in providing treatment to advanced mental health conditions and a proven record of successful treatment outcomes.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, with a calm and proactive approach to challenging situations.
• Familiarity with the latest EHR technologies and telehealth practices.
